  1. Good luck team. If you aren't already setting up your CP, Nefas has really good suggestions for vHoF per role. https://www.nefasqs.com/knowledge

  3. FIRST things FIRST! Hi, everyone! A couple of things: Sign-ups are working a little differently now, as Telana posted in the forum. Please fill out your characters on this spreadsheet and put whether or not you are available for this week's run by TUESDAY at 11:59pm in order to facilitate having the roster up in a timely fashion. I'm going to be locking this thread just to make sure that folks are redirected to the spreadsheet to sign up. In order to make sure that we take advantage of the full three hours, please be on time for the raid. If you're not present at 2pm, we will begin to look for a fill. If you show up before we find one, you're more than welcome to join! We'd just like to make the most of the time we have allotted. In that same vein, we're going to be changing the end of the event; we'll no longer be having an open discussion about performance. Instead, the organizers of the event (myself, @Telana, @PWiddy, @Icy, and @Arcadian) will discuss performance and strategy; afterward, we'll be making a post outlining our thoughts on the run. We may be reaching out to you individually if there's something we'd like to address. If you have any questions about your performance or strategies, please let us know! Clearing this content is a team effort and we're all a part of that team -- everyone's voice is valuable. DEATH by DAYLIGHT Veteran Halls of Fabrication Saturday, October 12th at 2:00 PM EST Still workin' on that second boss... but we have some strategic jiggery-pokery up our sleeve. For example, we're eliminating the rezplar support role and see how we do without it. Hopefully the extra DPS will get us through. We'll see how it goes and continue to work on strategies and lineups as necessary. LET'S DO THIS. Requirements -Read this post and /sign the thread, indicating you agree to this event's guidelines- The Morrowind Chapter of ESO, as the trial is in Vvardenfell Appropriate food/drink and potions Full sets of purple/gold gear (Two 5-piece + monster set or intentional partial sets) Raid Notifier and Team Formation add-ons For DPS: 25K DPS parse 3 mil dummy (available at @PWiddy's primary residence) 18K+ health with food/drink buff Take a screenshot of your dummy parse and get in touch with @Icy, @PWiddy, or @Arcadian For healers: CP 810 The Energy Orb morph of Necrotic Orb A purge ability that can purge the group & Purge Tracker add-on 18K+ health with food/drink buff At least a couple of set options available (including monster sets) e.g. Olorime, Sanctuary, Mending, IA, Worm Cult, Jorvuld, etc. For tanks: CP 810 A purge ability At least one crusher enchanted weapon (preferably 2H, bow, staff in infused) At least a couple of set options available (including monster sets) e.g. Ebon, Alkosh, Torug's Pact, Plague Doctor, Yolnahkriin, etc. Also! As this is one of the more challenging trials, the requirements are on the more stringent side. Being less than CP 810 severely impacts one's ability to survive in content like vHoF... this has nothing to do with skill and instead has to do with the passive damage mitigation a player gets from CP. If you sign up as a support role, we'll likely be reaching out to you in order to coordinate the sets the tanks and healers will be wearing for maximum effect If you have any questions about DPS requirements, contact @PWiddy, @Icy, or @Arcadian Questions about healing requirements should be directed to @Telana Reach out to @orbitoclast with any questions about tanking requirements Roster will be posted on Wednesday Walk it off, friends... WE GOT THIS.

  4. Hi, everyone! I wanted to make this thread to encourage anyone who is interested in running a homebrew campaign for a tabletop adventure game of their choice, and to offer an opportunity for those with experience to give advice! So, I'll start with a few bits of my own! Make a Map! If you want to run a homebrew game in a setting all your own, make a map. It doesn't have to be anything special or fancy or high in detail. Just start by sketching out some fun shapes on a piece of paper if that's all you have. Then, pick a few you like, and you can use those for continents! After that, try to imagine where mountains would be, or rivers, and then use that to fill in things like forests and plains and deserts! Once you have a world you've explored in your mind, you can start to think about who might live there! (There's a really great piece of software I use to make my maps called Wonderdraft. Plus, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that can show you how to make a cool map on whatever medium you want.) Set Your Level of Fantasy/Magic! This is an important one for you as a worldbuilder, but ask your players for their opinions, too! If you and your players want a high-magic world where anything can happen, great! The standard rules and your imagination should be plenty. But, if you have an idea or a desire to set limits on the magic of your world for one reason or another, you can use that to inform how you choose to allow the use of magic in your game. Maybe an evil sorcerer is sucking the magical energy out of the planet itself, or maybe the gods chose to punish the world's inhabitants years ago and there's none at all! Be sure to strike a balance between your vision and your players' desires, though! You can set limits, but nobody wants to be a Wizard that can't cast Fireball! Get Familiar with Existing Materials! Don't be afraid to see how other DMs do it! D&D is really hitting the scene again and gaining popularity fast. As a result, there is no shortage of content online in the form of videos or free modules for you to read through. If you can get official modules (for D&D 5e, Lost Mine of Phandelver, the Adventurer's League modules, or even Curse of Strahd for some fun horror are good places to start), read through them! (There are plenty of other fan-made ones you can find for free too at places like the DM's Guild or DriveThruRPG!) They can be great tools to inspire your adventures. You can use them in their entirety, or you can edit them to fit with your world as you see fit; it's up to you! But don't be afraid to find inspiration in other works you like! Being a DM is a lot of work, so save yourself some headache if you can! That's all for now, but I welcome you all to share your tips and experiences with running a game, or things you learned as a player that may be of use to leading a group. I'd love to hear what you think!

  5. DEATH by DAYLIGHT -Progression Spreadsheet- Hello, fellow seekers of misery, chaos, and glory! I come before you today to introduce the Progression Spreadsheet, which can be found in the link above. This spreadsheet will be used by the Raiders of DBDL to track raid-ready toons. This spreadsheet will be especially helpful when figuring out raid compositions for our weekly three-hour descent into progressive madness that is scheduled for every Saturday at 2PM EST. We are going back to our traditional signup method for determining weekly raid rosters. Once the raid for that week is posted, raiders will be able to sign up on the thread itself, listing their "raid-ready" toons as appropriate. Since we have more raiders than slots available, we will adopt a similar "Bump/Protected" system that is used by the PvE Department to keep things as fair as possible. So how will event scheduling work for DbDL? Players will follow the above link to the spreadsheet, find their name and input their character information and gear into the appropriate columns. Please note, there are only TWO character rows available per player. This is intentional, as we want you to be bring your most experienced, optimized and progression-ready characters that meet our stringent tank, healer and DPS requirements. This will also ensure character/role proficiency for players to maximize raid performance. NOTE: Since there are far more DPS slots available for any given raid than the other two roles, we would highly recommend listing a progression-ready DPS character to act as a reliable alternate. If you only list Tank and/or Healer as your available roles, you will have a higher chance of getting rotated out week to week, depending on availability and necessary group composition. Also, the nontraditional "support" role will not be included in the list of roles since what constitutes as support may vary from situation to situation. The need of a "support" role will be determined and assigned on a case-by-case basis. Once the raid post has been made for the upcoming week, raiders will be able to sign up on the thread itself, listing their "raid-ready" toons as appropriate. When composing groups week to week, we will try our best to accommodate EVERYONE that is willing, raid-ready and available. Please remember that progression raiding has its many nuances and intricacies, which will sometimes necessitate the best possible group composition. This will inherently give us the best chance for success, depending on the trial and its varying factors and mechanics. If you are not scheduled, keep in mind that there are many opportunities within the amazing ESO PvE Department to acquire gear, stay sharp, continue to practice and gain experience in Trial content. Note: We do review and discuss player/role vetting internally and WILL make adjustments to our stringent tank, healer and DPS requirements as needed. It will also be your responsibility to keep your character information (stats, gear, etc) updated on a weekly basis. Failure to do so may hinder your participation in future DbDL runs. Thanks! If you have any questions, please let us know! Tags:

  6. That’s all really good advice. And much appreciated. I’ll just add a few things that have helped me when starting and continuing my campaign. An Alternative for Mapmaking is Inkarnate. That’s what I use. And for people who tend to do better learning from videos, and even experienced DMs I highly recommend Matthew Colville’s Running the Game series on YouTube. Also his campaign diaries are really insightful as he goes through his process of decision making and session flow that you can watch after his Livestremed game. I think the the most important advice I can give someone that is interested in running a game is you do NOT need to flesh everything out before hand. Just start with Session 1. Start with 1 town. Start with fleshing out a few NPCs in that town. I call it the magnifying glass approach. When the session ends know where your players are heading and move your magnifying glass to flesh out that area. And keep doing that as the campaign progresses and eventually you’re world will be a living breathing thing. In my experience DMing is like a magic show of smoke and mirrors. All you gotta do is give your players enough to make things interesting and they’ll fall for it everytime.
