Suuuper late reply, sorry about that. I somehow missed this post. I'm getting mixed responses to the Rings of Power series. Personally I am not holding my breath on it, but I certainly can't judge it before it releases. By the same token, if the Amazon game is met with mixed or poor reviews, I don't think LOTRO is in much danger. Most casual Lord of the Rings fans are familiar with/enjoy the Third Age (Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf, etc). And SSG is doing a good job of expanding the map and allowing us to explore and experience the LOTR world most people want. I look forward to giving the new game a try, but I don't think it will be easily compared to lotro. Speaking of which, I've been craving lotro lately, and may be getting back on more regularly if anyone else wants to group up.

There is indeed, though it is not very active. Every now and then somebody comes and plays for a few weeks before drifting off to another game.

Just letting anyone know (especially @Roedynn who I know is playing) that school just started up again this week so I have been very busy lately getting my classroom going and meeting my students/first week of school stuff. This is why I have not been in game lately. I haven't lost interest or anything, just been getting the school year started is all. I hope to be back in middle earth very soon as my routine gets back to normal.

Hi Roedynn! The kinship is not active at the moment I'm afraid. I don't see many people having logged on in the past 2 months. I am on LoA from all things RoH so I took all but my guardian (kinship 'owner') out of the kin. I myself am playing a LOT on my various alts, as LOTRO is currently my only mmo. If you give me your character name on Landroval, I'll add you and shoot you a tell if I ever see you on.

Hello friends, For those who may not know, there is a free group of quests regarding our old friend Bilbo. Apparently he has gone missing, and it is up to us to find him? (I haven't tried it yet, but that is what I am seeing about it). It is for levels 20-130. If you are VIP, you already have access to the content! For non-VIPs, just redeem the code: SAVEBILBO Redeem the code by May 9th. I always like seeing free stuff! So I figured I'd pass the message along.

They tweak things now and again, but they have released tons of new content since Mordor and into places I don't think even the books have gone deeply into. Now that I am in quiet retirement from leadership I look forward to jumping in again.

Oh it really is so much fun! My hobbit minstrel kills things by playing the bagpipes. There are tons of other instruments you can choose too!

They released a new Rohan cosmetic outfit as a thank you to VIPs during the past week's supposed DDOS attacks and game outages. In case anyone isn't following the latest LOTRO news, you can now attend Aragorn and Arwen's wedding in Minas Tirith! For lower level characters, upon logging in you get a quest option that provides a fast travel to the White City of Gondor, if you'd like to check it out. As some of you may (or may not) have heard, the actor Ian Holm, who portrayed Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, recently passed away at age 88. I am a huge fan of the books, but I also love the movies, so certainly I felt a twinge of sadness and much respect for the actor, and gratitude for his part in the Lord of the Rings world. But I just wanted to share a cool article I found this morning about how players all across Lotro paid tribute to the actor and his character in-game. Stuff like this is always really neat to me, and I know its happened in other games too (like Star Trek and WoW). Anyways, here is the link. RIP Ian Holm!
