I have hoped like many other GW1 veterans that they bring back GvG, in a game called Guild Wars 2 we have no Guild Wars, no Wars, and we barely have Guilds in the existential sense. I hope that Arenanet with their reformed krewe and rekindled passion is about to give love to more WvW and this game mode it’s needed attention for several years.
GW1 had so many unique options for PvP, I wasn’t a PvP-er in that game, but I learned to get into PvP there simply because you had so many options and the variety was nice. Alliance battles were one of my favorite things, it was not quite WvW, but about three times as many people and capture points as sPvP.
There were Random Arenas too which you just queued and hoped for the best which is similar to sPvP in some ways I would suppose.
The kurzick/luxon faction fights were really awesome you could control entire cities if your guild had enough points in the faction for that week and your guild would get discounted items from a special merchant in that city.
The halls of ascension were pretty neat, similar to the “tournaments” we have now in some ways. I only participated in a few.
Id love to see more options in PvP for GW2, it’s long overdue.

Greetings Citizens of Tyria, Listed below are the officers and assistants for GW2 (link to GW2 Leadership Official Page)
Last Update 6/03/20
Crafting / Guild Hall
Officer: @Princess
Hello! I’m Princess, Crafting/Guildhall Officer of GW2! I’m relatively new to RoH but I’ve been playing GW2 fairly regularly since a little while after launch. While I hop between lots of different things in the game, I consistently spend way too much time achievement hunting and crafting legendaries. Outside of the game my favorite things to do are drawing and playing D&D. I love to help out where I can so if you ever have any questions or need help with something, feel free to give me a shout!
Assistants:
@MeRB : Howdy, y'all! I'm MeRB, one of the members of the GW2 Crafting/Guildhall team. I've been a member of RoH for a few years in which I previously served as Recruitment Officer, PvE Officer, and Crafting/Guildhall officer. I also manage the RoH GW1 guild! I spend most my free time outside of game reading or playing D&D. Oh, I also enjoy trying to make anything in any game into a possible healer.
Hello there. MY names Lim, a member of the Crafty Krewe, as well as a pvp assistant. I've been a member of RoH since March 2020; before that I was a moderator in a BG WvW guild, and before that I was a commander in TTS in charge of Eu/NA/PAC timezones. When it comes to Guildwars 2, I've done practically everything so just hit me up if you have any questions. Outside of Guildwars, I've mostly spent my time neglecting my back catalogue of Steam games. I LOVE After effects and particle physics engines, as well as EDM music. I'm a goofball that loves to make friends.
PVE
Officer: @Barandar
Hi friends! Barandar here. You probably know me best as the guy who leads PvE events every other day; and what better way to show my love of everything PvE? I’m a seasoned veteran of both the original GW and now GW2, having bought in to the pre-release of GW2 oh so many years ago. I’m probably the most knowledgeable about GW2 story and lore, but I can answer just about any PvE related question whether that be about open world, professions, dungeons, or other end-game content. Out of game I’m an assistant in medical research but I also love to learn foreign languages, hike around local parks, and write fantasy-fiction. If you ever need anything PvE related, feel free to reach out in the way the makes you most comfortable!
Assistants: @ShogunTaira: I am ShogunTaira. If you can correctly pronounce my name, you get bonus points. I specialize in pretty much everything open world/PvE, a real Jack-of-all-trades, very skilled and sometimes chaotic neutral. I like PC gaming, anime, sports, and history (specifically classical antiquity). Oh, and ask me about my JP godhood.
@Darklord Acidburn, @Silverlock, @Nayesh
PvP/WvW
Officer: @funBox
Hello there, friends! My name is funBox, but you can also call me fun, Box, Box o' fun, or even Bat Man! I am the resident Officer of the Mists around these parts. I've been a huge gamer pretty much all of my life, and have almost exclusively been drawn to MMORPGs and JRPGs. I'm a studied musician, and also enjoy anime and lifting heavy objects at the gym! In game you will typically find me farming fractals, participating in WvW, farming fractals, and doing sPvP. Oh, and I also enjoy farming the Silverwastes (if I'm not farming fractals)! I look forward to hanging out in game, so please don't be a stranger - I'm a pretty easy guy to get along with. ^^
Assistants: @battleshield, @Lim
Role Play
Officer: @Tuuo
Hey there! My names Tuuo, and I oversee the Role Play department here in Remnants of Hope! My favorite things to do in-game are run around and doing everything I can in PvE, fashioning up my heap of characters, and I love to RP of course! If you ever need a hand in-game, or even just have a question you'd like to throw someones way, I'm always available.
Assistants: @Pixi-Spit, @Outshined
Recruitment
Officer:
Hiya! I'm Merredith. Newly returned to GW2 and now playing catch up on the living story and omg all the mounts. Gotta Catch them ALL!! I like playing a variety of characters, though my fave is the necro. The stories in this game got me addicted. When not in game, I'm a nurse which is the most rewarding and amazing thing ever. I have a cat, she is my little pain in the... well you get the idea. I love working out, cooking, reading and doing crafty things with yarn and colored pencils though not necessarily together.
Assistants:
@T'riss: Meowdy! Meow meow meow mmeeoww. Oh wait I started to introduce myself in cat. Let me fix this. Howdy. My name is T’riss, I am the new member to the GW2 weirdos.... I mean recruitment team! I am a furbaby mom, who likes to make earrings, love to cook, and bake. I am honestly surprised to be chosen and yet grateful to have this experience. I am honored to join such a wonderful team of beautiful women. I have been with the RoH community for about 2-3 years and first time playing GW2. I still have a lot to learn about the game so lets have lots of fun together!
@Dexstar: Hello! My name is Dex and i am a Recruitment Assistant for the GW2 division of RoH. I haven't been playing GW2 for very long, just about 2 months now, but so far i am loving it and i am so very happy to have found RoH! My favorite thing to do in game right now is fractals but anything PvE works for me. I have been playing MMO's for about 15 years, i started with WoW back during vanilla and have tried many different MMO's since then. Outside of gaming i love to read fantasy novels and play D&D. Currently im playing a ranger in a Curse of Strahd campaign and it is a blast! I have two dogs(Toby and Leia) and a cat(Tyrion) with my Fiance, my little family is my whole world. Other than that i just work full time as a Munitions Inspector in the Air Force, its not as interesting as it sounds but it does have its moments. Looking forward to playing and "working" with all of you!
Division Commander: @SilentTheGray
Hey friends, I'm excited to be the Division Commander of GW2. This is one of the best games I've found to make friends in and form some really lasting relationships with people. There are incredible people everywhere you go from the pugs you run with in a fractal, to just regular jump puzzles out in the open world. There is never a dull or uninviting moment. Outside of RoH I am a Data Analyst, which means ... I'm still not entirely sure, but they pay me for it and I enjoy what I do. I also have a very deep love for coffee, and some might even consider me a bit of a coffee snob, and that's okay, I can't expect everyone to drink their coffee the proper way just like I can't expect everyone to play a Mesmer.

For anyone interested here is a site that hosts Smash Bros tournaments, I'm not quite sure how they work yet:

this is an example of one of them -
I can't wait, it sounds like you have some exciting stuff planned already!

So I’ve been playing through adventure mode and began with hard mode thinking to myself “how hard can it really be?” It’s really freaking hard. I’m still getting used to the controls also and so far my character lineup is Kirby, Mario, Marth and someone else I’m forgetting right now, but I’ve mostly been playing Marth.
The Isabelle and Corrin fight felt pretty insane considering they could heal through it over time. I had a fight last night that made me question whether normal was going to be too difficult for me. I managed to get through ~10 or so more bosses, am planning to do a little bit each night to preserve my sanity.
Has anyone who plays this messed around with expeditions? Are they worth doing? Should I focus on finding a way to be optimal with them?

Good afternoon my friends. I wanted to make a quick post to see if there was an interest in pursuing a DoS2 session and to get everyone's feet wet a bit. I can make myself available for most any time y'all would be interested in, though I by no means expect to go in any group, if anyone wanted to coordinate a session on their own they are more than welcome to, I'm just figuring out now how I think makes the most sense to organize this so we can do that. (I know, it only took me over a year)

A few tips I want to mention that will just make everyone's lives easier:-
However many player characters we start the game with is how many available character players are required at a minimum to be in the party. So if Quaxo, Witchbolts, Carg, and myself have a game we are playing through and Carg has some real life stuff happen and is unable to continue going, we still have his character and someone in the party is going to have to make use of that character in some way. This is one of the few annoying tidbits about the game, but it's worth knowing about in advance.
-
Team composition: dun dun dun! Does not matter all that much, the only thing to be aware of is if you want to have two tanks, or two Hydrosophists, or two Rangers etc is that it is perfectly fine to have them and it will actually work out very well from a combat perspective, but you'll be competing on gear.
-
This is more of a recommendation, but typically I avoid mods on my first playthrough of a game, you can play however you want, but a lot of the mods can drastically change things
- If y'all have any questions about the game in general I would be more than happy to answer them, I've played over close to 1k hours between PC and PS4 playthroughs, I've gone through Honour mode a couple of times, I have done almost every story arc possible and the game is STILL fascinating to me, I know that makes me a little strange, but I'm okay with it

@Krafted @SilentTheGrayI was maybe thinking we should possibly start over and maybe do a new world with a dedicated server that way we can just share those files. Since we own the game we have access to the server tools via steam. I also imagine it doesn't use that many resources being that it's a command prompt. Maybe a little cpu intensive but other wise shouldn't be the most taxing thing out there.
I’m not sure what this option would entail and if it’s viable for everyone which is why I’d lean more towards the google drive solution since it seems more accessible.
With that being said though I’m fine with starting over and would like to learn more about the solution you proposed I just don’t know how it works right now.

Yes! Sorry have been a little busy, I’ll see all y’all at 7:00 est again this Friday if we want to continue or start over our journey, going to see if there is a way I can share the server somehow so in case one week I can’t make it all is not lost.

So I wanted to share with all y’all our endeavor to become the one, it’s quite entertaining.
In the beginning when you are in Fort Joy and do the arena stuff, @witchbolts was desperate to become “the one” so she went through the dialogue to do so. At the same time @Carg also was thinking “yes, I want to become the one as well” to make a long story short an epic battle ensued.
Then later on @Carg, @witchbolts, @Quaxo Zyrustiner, and I all entered to become “the one” in yet another epic battle. I’m convinced the only reason Savvy wanted to do that was because I slapped a magister across the brow with my coin purse, oh and that dog I almost killed ... twice.

Awesome resource @Krafted, I've been reading through it and trying to follow some of those tips in a single player game I've been trying, seems to be pretty effective stuff.
