2019 is almost upon us, ladies and gentlemen. I'm looking back at 2018 and wow, what a ride it's been! My wife was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer back in February, scared the living daylights out of all of us. Got her lumpectomy and then went through two rounds of chemo, she's now getting ready to start radiation treatment. She's been told by her oncologist that she is totally cancer free, but they still want to do the radiation therapy just to make sure that there's nothing left. I would highly recommend everyone NOT get cancer at any time in their lives like EVER. It's not fun.
Went through two jobs this year, currently unemployed and working my way through the system, trying to get Medicaid and unemployment benefits so we can keep our heads above water. This is definitely not a good time to be looking for a job, especially when a lot of the seasonal positions get shut down and there are suddenly more people in the pipeline. Tax time is almost here, though, and that should be a relief.
So what's the good news, you may ask? Once you hit rock bottom, the only direction you can go is up. Keep thinking positively, take whatever life throws your way, and keep getting stronger day by day. Learn more about the things that you want to do, have fun with friends and family, and don't let anything get you down.
So bring it on, 2019. Give it your best shot!
