I know how hard depression can be @glawarhal. Take care of yourself and we'll see you back in the game when you're feeling up to it!

I'm taking a breather from GW2 and ESO for a few days. I've been playing ESO quite a bit lately, to the detriment of everything else in my life. My depression comes and goes and never seems to have any type of pattern. I'm still going to check in from time to time, maybe run some dungeons or take part in some events, just not to the point where everything else suffers. Feel free to message, email, and chat with me because I'll still be around, just in a more reduced capacity.

All the love to you, @glawarhal! Depression is a nasty thing. Mine comes and goes as well and when it comes, it hits hard. We are all here for you. Don't ever think you are going at this alone.

Thanks, everyone for your support and understanding! I've been dealing with depression since I was sixteen. I'll be fifty in August (
) so I'm pretty well used to it and what it does to me. It's never predictable and I'm always trying to keep my chin up. I'm actually doing a lot better since my doctor weaned me off of my antidepressant, but it still takes a lot of mental energy to keep this wall up and around me. I won't be gone for long, but I feel that it's better for me in the long run

My deepest apologies to everyone for completely bailing on everything last night. My depression grabbed hold of me early in the evening and wouldn't let go. I attempted to sleep it off for an hour so I could be back in time to see if I had a spot on Cloudrest +3 Trial, but I didn't wake up until around 11:30pm. I was exhausted. It's something that both my doctor and my psychologist are keenly aware of, but wanted to bring it out into the open so everyone else knows as well.
I've done my best to keep this out of sight, but I don't believe that it is possible anymore. There are reasons for my depression but do not wish to go into them because I'd rather everyone see me for the cheerful, happy person who loves this guild and everyone in it. I'll do what I can to mitigate any future occurrences, but I cannot guarantee success.

Thank you for sharing something so personal @glawarhal and I think I speak for most all of us when say no need to apologize. Everyone understands when real life happens, and more so when it's a situation such as yours. Thinking of you

SO after two days of gearing up all my characters, spending lots of coin in the process, and getting them set up with crafting, I'm ready to get back into playing the game. Not sure if y'all missed me or not, but I'm coming back in a big way

Spend the better part of yesterday getting my low-level starter characters up and running. I now have 6 characters and I'm aiming to get each and every one of them geared and set up for success. I've reached a point of no return with ESO and I'm not sure if I'm going to keep playing GW2. I'll be finishing up with that tonight, seeing as how I'm still not ready for Trials.

Thanks @Daizey, @witchbolts, and @Westvleteren for a great group tonight. Had a lot of fun hanging with you all

2019 is almost upon us, ladies and gentlemen. I'm looking back at 2018 and wow, what a ride it's been! My wife was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer back in February, scared the living daylights out of all of us. Got her lumpectomy and then went through two rounds of chemo, she's now getting ready to start radiation treatment. She's been told by her oncologist that she is totally cancer free, but they still want to do the radiation therapy just to make sure that there's nothing left. I would highly recommend everyone NOT get cancer at any time in their lives like EVER. It's not fun.
Went through two jobs this year, currently unemployed and working my way through the system, trying to get Medicaid and unemployment benefits so we can keep our heads above water. This is definitely not a good time to be looking for a job, especially when a lot of the seasonal positions get shut down and there are suddenly more people in the pipeline. Tax time is almost here, though, and that should be a relief.
So what's the good news, you may ask? Once you hit rock bottom, the only direction you can go is up. Keep thinking positively, take whatever life throws your way, and keep getting stronger day by day. Learn more about the things that you want to do, have fun with friends and family, and don't let anything get you down.
So bring it on, 2019. Give it your best shot!
