Through a varied series of events involving a local business owner's daughter, a misplaced mead shipment, and a one-eyed Khajiit, Harik Shortsong came down on the wrong side of the Thieves Guild in The Rift in his early twenties.  It's been over 15 years since that night; however, he still avoids The Rift at all costs.

2. Mistaken Identity

Harik is the spitting-image of a moderately well-known Nord Bard that travels Tamriel.  Though this has at times been beneficial and enabled him to get the occasional gig or free drink at a tavern, it has also caused more than its share of trouble; especially given that his doppelganger appears to have a nasty skooma habit and numerous debts to less than honorable people.
