    Flaws:

    1. Callous | Tortured for what felt like an endless multitude of eternities, Uriel is one of the few souls to have made it to Coldharbour and then escape. Yet, for what purpose? He remembers the escape being easy...the scores of wardens being mysteriously few in number. Regardless, life is short and full of pain, why bother coating over the reality....

    2. Color Blindness | Having nearly gone blind from his injuries, Uriel was gratefully able to have his vision restored by mages back in Tamriel, but color evades him to this day unfortunately. In such a gray and gloomy world, joy escapes Uriel even through color.

    Flaws:

    1. Low Self-Image | Lorcan's past in his clan and his time in the Summerset Isles have reinforced the idea that he is worth nothing and has no one. It is through his friendship with Dronos that he found some form of meaning, although even that is a source of contention between the two.

    2. Nightmares | After having become a vampire during his imprisonment with the Dark Brotherhood, Lorcan still has nightmares (daymares?) about the process and the terrible things he witnessed.

    3. Pacifist | Lorcan never had any desire to hurt someone, and even now, as a vampire, he is hesitant of hurting others, typically doing so only in the most extreme of situations. A perfect counter to Dronos' more violent tendencies.

    4. Fire Vulnerability (Moderate) | Lorcan is not scared of fire, but he does recognize the threat it poses to him.

    5. Silver Vulnerability (Moderate) | Ditto.

    6. Weakened by the Sun | Lorcan is actually able to be in the sun, although it severely hampers his combat abilities.

The cold envelops you, snow falling down around you as you continue to trek through the cold climate that is Skyrim. Indeed, your duties as a member of the Brotherhood can at times take you all over Tamriel. You recall the three Nords who you left behind, slowly getting buried under snow, your tracks gone by morning. Three burly men, oh, how they underestimated you. But, the moment they saw your eyes, they knew what was to come. It comes as no surprise either as you were born when the stars in the sky shined in the form of:

  4. The sun shines down upon you, bright and unrelenting. As the heat builds up on your travels, it sends you into a near-dreamlike state. Indeed, you begin to recall the various assignments you've successfully carried out in the name of the Night Mother. A few times, it was close, yes. But, your quick tongue easily got you out of any problems, at least until you were far enough away. But, how is that surprising? After all, when you look up upon the night sky, when the stars shine bright, your eyes are naturally drawn to that of:

    Flaws:

    1. Addiction/Bad Habit | Alana was originally training to become a paladin of justice under the glorious light of Stendarr. However, when she first took the life of someone who was evil, she became addicted to the taste of flesh. Now, even if the person does not deserve it, Alana does want to continue consuming, ever gluttonous.

    2. Shy | Because of her unique tastes, Alana rarely speaks to others, even coming across as mute. Of course, when they see the blade slice their throat, they realize that the quiet girl was a monster in disguise.

    3. Zealot | Eating the flesh of others is but a way to purify both them and her! That is the true ideal that Stendarr wanted to achieve.

  6. As you finally plop down on the forest ground after a quick escape from a nearby temple, you take out a scroll you were able to take although not without being noticed. 8. Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End

"Once upon a time, there was a young prince. Unlike many, this prince was lonely and distraught. No one shared his joys or his tastes...he was alone..."

"But along came a pauper! Cheerful and kind, the complete opposite of the moody prince. And one day they met, and they talked, and they...felt. The lonely prince and the pauper who had no one else found kin in each other..."

Dronos was the youngest child of a prominent member of the Thalmor's leadership, Ainias Balen. His mother was a kind high elf named Aestala but sadly, she was not long for this world. A mere five years after Dronos' birth, Aestala passed away leaving Ainias to take care of the young Dronos all by himself. Of course, that is not what occurred. Ainias had 'love' for the boy but it was difficult for him to express such a thing without his wife. So, Dronos' older brothers (he had two) attempted to take care of the child but the age difference was too large to overcome and Dronos was practically left to his own devices everyday. In the Summerset Isles, Dronos spent most of his time in the city of Alinor locked inside Ainias' estate with little to no outside contact. What kept him sane were his books, a large collection of novels and theoretical teachings that the Balen family had collected over the years all stored in their estate. Weeks of time spent on these books with the remaining time spent looking outside the windows of the estate where the gardeners and housekeepers walked around, in and out of the estate, while he had to remain inside.

Eventually though, there was a need for Dronos to do something for the family, something that would continue the family's legacy and prestige. So, he chose to hone his magical affinity, something he has already begun training while home and away from the probing eyes of the servants in the estate. The Archmage in charge of the Crystal Tower at the time was a close friend of Ainias and so, Dronos was quickly sent off to study whatever fields of magic interested him, Ainias hoping that he would one day become a prominent figure in the Crystal Tower's administration as well. In order to ensure the child's safety, Dronos would spend months on and off in the Crystal Tower and his father's estate with an escort to accompany him whenever he had to travel and a handful of guards remaining behind wherever he stayed.

That is where the pain and self-loathing began. Imagine a young high elf who eats alone, studies alone. While the other students spent time in the courtyard together or went back home at times to "hang out" for a few weeks, Dronos was alone. He had no practice in making friends and the guards who remained with him made it no easier to make them either, so he only had his studies to look forward to. Conjuration became his specialty over the years, with private lessons with one of the higher-ups in the more secretive shadow arts as well. Eventually, his mind became even more twisted and he began to look for those he could experiment on. The easiest ones to get to? His own escort. Slowly, they began "quitting" and sending resignation notices to Ainias, who simply wondered if his son's bad attitude was the reason for it.

In reality, they were knocked out, taken to a remote location under the cover of darkness, and used for various experiments by Dronos. The art of manipulating a shadow to feed one's own life force was practiced, different Daedric entities and their reaction to being locked in a room with a defenseless elf, using magic as an efficient torture method while maintaining the subject's mental state stable enough to receive truthful information. All of it became second nature to him and slowly, his own heart began to grow even colder.

Until one of his last summers at his father's estate.

As Dronos was walking down a flight of stairs, distracted by a book in his hand, and a piece of chocolate cake in the other, he accidentally tripped and began rolling down. Reaching the end of the staircase with a groan of pain, he looked over to see the piece of cake smashed on the floor and he sniffled. He then heard someone running from a nearby room, and looked over to see a rather young Nord male (likely in his 20s if Dronos had to guess) running to him. It had been one of Ainias' most recent "hires", serving as one of the cooks of the estate in exchange for the promise of the ability to settle down anywhere he wished in the Summerset Isles.

Strangely enough, this stranger was concerned for Dronos' wellbeing, a ludicrous thought to Dronos who had only ever been treated with indifference by the servants in his father's employ, if that. Initially bland and rude to the Nord, Dronos simply shrugged off the help and began heading back down to the library of books he would delve into every night. But, the Nord followed, insistent on making sure that Dronos was alright or if he needed to receive some form of medical attention. For some strange reason, perhaps Dronos did not appreciate what he thought was pity, Dronos simply looked over and attempted to bind the Nord in shadows, thinking of ways to play off his disappearance. Yet, for the very first time, his magic was ineffective and faster than he could fathom, there was a large butcher's knife to his throat and the Nord's friendly face devolved into one with equal killing intent.

Against all odds, Dronos simply started laughing. For the very first time since his mother's death, he laughed loud and hard and for a long time.  Oh, what a fun one this Nord will be!

  9. "Once upon a time, there was a young prince. Unlike many, this prince was lonely and distraught. No one shared his joys or his tastes...he was alone…

But along came a pauper! Cheerful and kind, the complete opposite of the moody prince. And one day they met, and they talked, and they...felt. The lonely prince and the pauper who had no one else found kin in each other…

In the most miraculous of fairy tales, the duo became the closest of friends and they were no longer alone...but of course, such good things cannot last, for the prince had other roles and other ‘friends’.

Along came the bad people, the darkness hidden behind all, a fraternity like no other. And the prince joined, and the prince reveled.

But the prince couldn’t do everything they asked, for how could he show such a side of himself to them but continue his merry times with his pauper?

But the bad men found out, and they found the pauper, and they threatened the prince. So, the prince did unspeakable deeds, and the most horrible of things for the pauper to keep him safe.

And when he finished...the pauper couldn’t look upon his old friend anymore...because he changed. But, the pauper was safe...although the prince was alone."

  10. You stroll through the streets, having just finished a meal at a local inn. Always on the lookout, you see two strangers asking around and you briefly hear them ask where someone with your exact physical description might be found. Certainly, you would not let yourself get caught so easily after experiencing the bittersweet taste of freedom. It is but a simple task for you to quickly head into a side alley, and go into the outskirts of the town where you quickly take a steed and ride it into the wilderness. It comes easy to you, perhaps a result of what your eyes are drawn to even now in the light, the stars, that of...

  11. As you walk through the forest, leaves crunching beneath your feet, you hear hunters near your position. Swiftly, your lycan form hides in the nearby shrubbery and blends in with the nature surrounding you. As the hunters walk past, you hold your breath, and barely keep in control, eager to have their blood fill you and satiate you. But, you know that many other things in the forest will serve that same purpose and...as you look up, you see it, how the stars align and you are always drawn to that of...

  12. Character Name: Dronos Balen

    Race: Altmer

    Gender: Male

    Age: 154

    Birth Sign: The Tower

Occupation: Scholar of Magic, previous member of the Dark Brotherhood

    Gear:

    • A dark gray robe that seems to have been made of rather fine material yet has been worn down over time (hood included of course).
    • A wooden staff that seems to have been made of rather resilient wood yet is practically brand new, never really used in combat…
    • A hidden blade, most similar to a sabre, made of pretty fine iron. It's definitely not the most impressive weapon, but it has seen some combat in its use, yet still not enough for someone like Dronos.

    Commonly carried items:

    • A black journal, never actually opened in public. A dark red sigil is visible on the front, but what does it represent?
    • A pack with the typical instruments of a thief and an assassin, including poison, rope, lockpicks, etc.
    • Limited healing potions, perhaps starting out with three at most.

*Skills marked with this are part of racial bonuses or birth sign bonuses, so less skill points are assigned to them.

    Flaws:

    1. Dark Presence | Having focused on shadow magic for nearly all his life, Dronos has been responsible for quite a few failed experiments, one of which left him with this dark aura that doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon.

    2. Intolerance | Those who would commit the act of treachery are less than scum, while Dronos has few morals and even less compassion, when you place vital trust in someone or something, betraying that trust is the height of folly in his opinion.

    3. Deep Sleeper | Sleep is important, sleep is key, after decades of spending weeks and months only sleeping or studying, sleep has become a vital part of Dronos' daily routine to the point where it's rather difficult for him to wake up on time...or to be waken up.

    4. Lazy | Just as Dronos enjoys sleep, he also enjoys resting. Constantly. Never ending. For anything other than his studies, Dronos is reluctant to act and even more reluctant to fight. Others may mistake that as ineptitude in combat, but more than a few people have met their end by underestimating this lazy High Elf.

    5. Notoriety | Even though Dronos has attempted to keep his interests in the more darker aspects of magic, specifically shadow magic. Word of his exploits and achievements has gotten back to the Thalmor and rather prominent members of the Altmer. While not a full enemy, Dronos' reputation is still sullied in their eyes.
