  1. I've just been using a holosmith build on my engi, however I've been thinking about playing necro as well. I have no gear for necro right now, so I'll start trying to get some & get a feel for the gameplay here & there. Otherwise just put me down for the Remnant army until I can satisfy a group need.

Our of those 5, do you have one that you have found to be more fun for you?

The most fun I had was when I was playing decap/knockback engineer, but they nerfed it a couple months ago. Right now I tend to play a speedy necro to grab the daily.  I also played a symbolbrand type guardian to some success, but haven't played it in a while.

  3. I'd be interested!! Not new to SPvP, but definitely not refined enough to operate within a team dynamic as I mostly queue solo, 1500 solo games.......

I have experience on Engineer, Guardian, Necro, Mesmer & Warrior. Even after so much play, still learning rotations & solid play patterns. I'd be willing to try any build to help out within those classes mentioned & would love to talk shop with others to see what has worked/not worked  for them.

I'm available most nights, but not past 9 CST as I leave early for work.

  4. It might take some time to find a class & build you are both comfortable with & like. I recommend trying a few to see what fits your style of play & tendencies. Gods of PvP & MetaBattle are good starts to see what builds some have had success with, however they don't always explain how or why to play a class. For instance, Gods only has 1 or 2 builds per class that are considered meta by the author(s), but that may not always translate to your experience, skill level or ranking.

I've played around 1600 games & am shark rank & I still get frustrated by off builds that I just can't handle very well or throw something at me unexpected. This is where trying different classes helps, because you can get an idea on what each is trying to do to a certain extent.

Yes there are hackers out there, I've run into them here & there. There are also bot accounts that people let go to farm rank & currency. There are also ArenaNet bot accounts (which may be unconfirmed, but is a longstanding belief within the PvP community). Unfortunately, it is what it is. You can report & move on, I will typically block the jerks & try not to be one myself.

  5. Thanks @Princess @QuietlyExisting. I feel stepping away for a bit would definitely help calm the nerves, there is plenty to do in the rest of the game or maybe not in game if the mental side of things needs to calm down. For some reason though, I have this mindset that I want to end on a win, but taking a step back & looking at it, it would definitely be better to just end it no matter what is going on. Thats when I feel burned out anyways, when I try to push progression or goals to the point where they may cause stress instead of going with the flow.

Once again thanks for your help!

  6. One thing I would love advice on is the mindset. How to keep your cool when things are falling apart. I can struggle in that area for sure & would welcome any input regardless of whether or not its in the sPvP arena or just elsewhere throughout the game.

oh man I love to pvp but I have no clue what guardian skills are LOL. I'm still down to group and play though, maybe we can learn from each other since I'm not that great yet.

I'll hit you up at some time & have some fun in conquest mode!

Tagged above since I think they'd be able to give you 1st hand experience advice.  I have no experience in PvP at all except for WvW which is a different beast 😜

I'd also like a refresher in WvW too, I definitely feel lost out there.

  8. Hello all. Like the title says I'm looking to improve in sPvP. I'd consider myself a novice right now even though I have over 1000 games under my belt, they were from a really long time ago🤪. I seem to have kept above level in win % but feel there is more out there.

Currently playing a Guardian symbolbrand build that feels support/bunker. I feel confident in 1v1's & even 1v2's depending on what I'm fighting against.

I'm looking for help to get more efficient & timely in skill usage, such as identifying when to use certain abilities at more opportunistic times, & identifying enemy builds more quickly to have a better game plan going into a skirmish. Also trying to figure out rotations, I have my opener (most likely not optimal) & then try to use skills as they come off CD. Again looking to optimize & be more efficient. Do you have a certain keybind that is critical, how to better utilize the camera & movement, such as turning 180 or looking 180 or how you maintain an encounter while keeping an eye out for reinforcements or ambushes.

I'm a little behind in understanding of the lobby & maps to a point. Besides this is ranked or unranked play, I don't really get what the tournaments or seasons are for, if I can join or participate at some point or what that might mean as far as my character or rewards. On maps, if anyone can share tips & tricks, like kite points, LOS tricks, general or specific strategy, etc I'd love to hear them.

I'm on in the evenings here & there & would love to group with someone if they are able & would like to talk shop.
