Ranting here b/c I can't post this on facebook due to being friends with work people there.
There are seriously few things that will make me lose respect for a leader or manager faster than watching them use their position as a platform to push their personal pet peeves on the people they lead just because "that's how they like it".
Now, I'm not talking about pushing a personal opinion that happens to be based on facts, logic & reasoning, or experience. I'm talking about purely emotional driven decision making - it makes them feel better to have things a certain way and to hell with any dissenting opinions, data, or facts to the contrary. Outside of an urgent life-threatening or time-sensitive situation, the moment you have to fall back on "because I'm the boss" is the moment you're no longer worthy of the title.
Ok, end rant. -

It's like writing a 4th grade paragraph. Start off with an Introductory statement to summarize your point. Include 2-3 specific points in support of your opening statement. Close it out by re-summarizing your opener using different words. Why is this so hard to do? -
It's the art of saying something without saying anything at all. What you originally wrote I have literally heard in meetings and read in reviews. I'm that obnoxious person in the room that starts asking open ended questions in response. MUAHAHAHA!
"In what way will you be realigning?" "How are you measuring these results?" "What would you say is the next level in our business?"

The market for mid-range GPU's has inflated like the market is about to collapse.
In February/March timeframe:- GTX 1060 6 GB cards were selling for ~$250-$400.
- GTX 1070 8 GB cards were selling for ~$350-$450.
- GTX 1080 8 GB cards were selling for ~$600-$800.
Now:
- GTX 1060 6 GB cards are selling for ~$300-$800
- GTX 1070 8 GB cards are selling for ~$500-$900
- GTX 1080 8 GB cards are selling for ~$550-$1000
I read up on a few forums and reddit, and I guess a lot of the 1060's and RX 480/580's got bought up by "miners" (data miners?) . This reduced the supply for those mid-range cards so now people are paying more for them. This has made it easier to inflate the higher tiers too, such as the 1070's and 1080's.
Here's to hoping that I'll be able to buy a new graphics card by Christmas.

Possibly. I somewhat anticipate Black Friday/Cyber Monday being the main catalyst for reasonable pricing, but we'll see.

Soooo, I complain about this and then I get an email from EVGA that the card I want is now available for $269.
I was completely irresponsible and just bought it on credit b/c of my experiences in February. lol
