untilSaturday, June 9th, Remnants Acquisitions regular meeting, The Tavern, Remnant Base ((the Guild Hall)), 8 PM - 10 PM Eastern. Act I, Scene 3, of "Strings in the Shadows." Metis' return from the box canyon with the rumor about Remnants Acquisitions' absent founder, Truman Mathison, had truly set the Charr among the messenger pigeons, scattering them in all directions. First to return was Secretary Karen Duckling from far Elona, who set in motion inquiries about The Veil, the bandits in general, and those senior agents who were most closely associated with the Founder, other than herself. Results were slow in coming, and the Remnants, led by Agent Athir Orotur and ranger Danisa Bonegrip, answered a call for assistance in Lake Doric in the meantime. Then Agent Aurtorus succeeded in cracking the code in part of a notebook recovered from thief and all-round miscreant Zyrre the Subtle. The information therein indicated a possible link between The Veil and bandit Tactician Angelan, a key figure in negotiations between bandits, Nightmare Court, and Inquest. untilSaturday, May 26th, Remnants Acquisitions regular meeting, the Tavern, Remnant Base ((the Guild Hall)), 8 PM - 10 PM Eastern. Act I, Scene 2, of "Strings in the Shadows." Section Chief Metis Ashfall, standing in the shadows, waited until the last of the squad had gotten safely away from the box canyon, then transported herself to Remnant Base, her nerves in a state of high excitation. Karen had to know as soon as possible. This was a potential lead on a matter of long concern. The possible implications were, honestly, more than she could fit into her head at this moment. The meeting and the battle had gone well -- quite well, really -- but she had not expected what The Veil finally yielded up. Truman? How was he involved, and in what? As the entry waypoint took shape, Mignon stood before her, a cage of messenger birds in one hand and a sheaf of message paper in the other. After a quick glance, she put down the cage and gave Metis the paper and a pen. Metis looked about at a crowd of agents and others in small groups in urgent conversation. Several gave her questioning looks. "The Office," snapped the Centurion, porting to the Waterfall waypoint. Mignon arrived moments later to see the Section Chief on her favorite plush carpet writing and waving the pen. Folding the paper, Metis handed it to the Assistant Secretary with a word, "Karen." As Mignon settled the bird and attached the message, Metis added, "She's needed here, now." "Is that all for now?" Metis frowned as if trying to think a hundred thoughts at once and finally nodded. "Yes. Tell her I'll be here for a day or two before I have to return to the Citadel. I'll give her a full report before that." "Now I need to make notes while it's fresh." untilSaturday, May 19th, Remnants Acquisitions regular meeting, the Tavern, Remnant Base ((AKA the Guild Hall)), 8 PM - 10 PM Eastern. Act I of our new story arc, "Strings in the Shadows" begins. I ask for your close attention and cooperation during the RP portion of the evening. If absent, fear not! Important plot points will be summarized in the After-Action Report and in future mission briefings. There will be no quiz (well ... probably not). For tonight's mission level 80 is required. If you want to RP with Remnants Acquisitions but can't meet the requirement tonight, contact @Sim the Ineluctable or @SirenRae and we'll find a convenient time to RP with you during the week. _______________________ Agents, You may recall we ventured to Silverwastes earlier (( https://www.remnantsofhope.com/boards/index.php?/topic/32315-gw2-rp-event-rp-saturdays-8-pm-est/&do=findComment&comment=397475 )) to determine the truth about rumors of "Bad Remnants." These proved to be bandits led by a mysterious female human who appeared to have lured us there for a dual purpose -- to trap and cripple agents of the organization, and to "negotiate" about some topic. Our success in dealing with the trap cut short the negotiations. Efforts to obtain further information from the survivors were largely unsuccessful although some documents were retrieved, the most interesting of which are still encrypted. The bandit's leader proved to be a skilled mesmer and avoided capture, although not defeat. Tonight we return to Silverwastes where the bandits have returned to plague local skritt and Pact forces. Our primary goal is to extract more information from them. I am curious to know why their leader thinks we would negotiate with her for anything. Humans have a saying about curiosity and cats. Charr do not.
