Well now-

I am here to throw my hat in as an interested player for Tournament based pvp.
I play Guardian (both Dps and support) as my primary/most knowledgeable class, but I'd be willing/wanting to learn and do more as a developing comp might need.

I'll be honest in that I glossed over most of this thread, but from what I gleaned a group of 5 people playing together consistently with someone in a shot caller role seems needed.
An active tournament group would seek to learn and improve, but would likely have a baseline understanding of pvp so that a lot of the growth is in the form of strategy and execution and not so much mechanics of a character/how pvp works.

I coach a few esports teams at the college where I work, and have coached esports for years- not to say I am qualified/am a good fit for a team (or that my Gw2 pvp knowledge is "good enough for competitive play"), but more to say I would be interested in finding 4 other people seeking to play in this way. 

But, I think there is still room for a "for fun" tournament group too! I think it'd be important to separate those teams though, so that players on both sides get what they want out of the experiences.

Just my thoughts! Happy for this to be a conversation, as these are just some ideas I had this morning while at work.
