(( As P. Mignon slid out of her alcove in the Secretary's Office headed for the back stairs she glanced at the back at Section Chief Metis, slouched on the plush carpet around the fire-pit, head down over maps and papers. "Yes, P?"
Mignon blinked. "You startled me."
"I don't have to be completely immersed in my work," Metis turned and replied with a grin.
"Good to know," Mignon said, smiling and walking over. "How's it going?" She perched on the edge of a couch.
"Frustrating. Nothing seems worth doing. . . . I hate leaving a battlefield to the enemy," Metis added.
"But I suppose something will turn up, and we can respond to it. It's never dull for long here." A moment passed.
"If it feels unfinished to you, why not go back?" Now the Charr blinked, and looked pensive for a moment.
"We could," Metis said, giving a nod. "There is word a new recruit's coming, with some experience in that area. Might give us the edge we need."
Notes began to flow from her pen, and a pleased look graced her face. "Thank you, P." ))
