  3. Ben stood silently, his eyes traveling from the body of the old sergeant to the sky where the pieces of the two ships and numerous escape pods were raining to the ocean below. He could feel the voices crying out in fear and despair, only to suddenly fall silent amid small splashes in the water. He collapsed, dropping to his knee's, his fists connecting with the ground hard. Victory had been achieved but at what cost? The young jedi master slowly got to his feet. The once shining blue and white armor was now blackened and scarred in many places. Sadness was etched in his face but his eyes flashed briefly as they caught the light of the setting sun. Ben turned to the new king of Dac and Dega as they stood there nearby.

"Your majesty, though victory has been won, the day is not over. We need to organize search and rescue teams to pick up any of the Remnants that survived the wreck of our flagship. This victory has cost both sides greatly and I fear will bring new surprises in the near future. But we cannot give up. There are more in the galaxy that are in danger, much still to be done before peace will be commonplace once again. We have helped you and your people, now I ask you for your help. Will you help us save those that we can? I will not say that the task will be easy, and I know it will cost all much more then we ever wish to give, but it will be worth it for your descendants to be able to walk in peace in the galaxy someday."

Swee'la smiled at the two jedi before him. "Dac can never trully repay you for what you and your friends have done today Master jedi. I will have my men search the waters until every man has been accounted for. It has been an honor fighting by both of your sides. When my planet and people have stabilized  we will do what we can to aid the Republic. We would not be free today if not for your bravery and sacrifice. We would honor that. Now if you will excuse me, I will return to the command center and begin sending out orders to the rescue teams."

Ben and Dega bowed to the king. "It was our honor to fight for you and your people your highness. What blood was shed we freely gave." Ben turned to Dega. "Padawan Dega I want you to ensure the safety of the king back to command if you would. After that you are welcome to help with the rescue effort that I will be helping with as well. Thank you padawan, I will be along momentarily."

Ben stood silently on the edge of the imperial base looking out over the water. He could not shake the uneasy feeling that this was not over. He could feel a distant darkness moving away for now but retreating? He shook his head. The empire rarely retreated without some ulterior motive or master plan taking place. The only question was, what was it?

The tall jedi stood at the edge of the platform for a moment more, his eyes once more a brilliant blue and his face though sad, calm for the moment. There was still work to do and he would not rest until it was done and all of his friends safe. He turned and made his way down to where Mon Calamari and Quarren were readying vessels of all sizes along with underwater equipment for rescuing any who might be trapped inside the ship when it went down that were still alive. Ben picked up some gear and moved it into one of the vessels.

"I am coming my friends," he whispered as the boat moved away.

  4. "Started the fun without me, eh Master?"

Ben opened and closed his hands a few times gaining strength back in them while he smirked at Padawan Dega. "Just warming up a little, testing the battlefield." Ben called his lightsaber to his hand and flourished it briefly before straightening his tall form and staring down the sith in front of them. The jedi master's armor once, white and blue was now blackened in many places but he was not deterred. "Its time we took the fight to them, be ready Dega, this is no game anymore."

"Now you die, Remnants..." The sith pureblood's anger was clearly taking control of him as he charged the jedi.

Ben moved a step closer and raising his hand he caught Priam in the air and threw him into one of the pillars off to his right. The sith was able to cushion his impact a little against the pillar and then the floor but not entirely. The sith got to his feet breathing a little heavier as he glared at the two jedi. Out of the corner of his eye Ben saw Soren now on his feet and moving towards him. Ben moved to place himself between Dega and the sith lord. "Don't underestimate his apprentice Dega. Keep your eyes on him at all times."

Both jedi readied themselves against their separate combatants. Ben saw Dega leap towards Priam and he turned his full attention to the zabrak in front of him. Ben moved into the Soresu opening stance and with a small flick of his outstretched hand challenged the Sith lord. With a roar of rage Soren attacked, rushing forward and bringing his lightsaber across in a vicious horizontal cut, but Ben brought his lightsaber around and deflected the attack, pushing the zabrak back a little. Undaunted Soren attacked again with a barrage of cuts aimed at varying parts of Ben's body but the jedi moved his blade faster, parrying and redirecting them all away. Again and again the sith attacked, however each time he was foiled by the lightning fast reflexes of the jedi calmly returning his strikes. Soren took another vicious cut to Ben then reversed it, intending to stab him while the jedi tried to deflect the first attack. But Ben brought his lightsaber around in an arc anticipating the attack and yet again moved the sith lord's blade out of the way. This time though he countered spinning and bringing the hilt of his lightsaber hard into the side of the zabrak's head. Dazed Soren backed up, hatred evident in his eyes. Channeling all of his hatred and anger Soren unleashed it in a massive wave of lightning at the young jedi. Ben steadied himself, catching the lightning on his lightsaber blade he pushed back, slowly moving forward towards Soren. He could feel Dega's strength starting to fail and knew he had to end the fight soon.

Ben drew inside himself building up the force as he moved in on Soren. The sith lord put forth more and more of his power trying desperately to halt the advance of the jedi master until the very air around them was crackling with energy. Finally he stopped seeing that he was getting nowhere, glaring with surprise and the beginnings of fear at the jedi in front of him. Ben opened his eyes and stared back at the sith lord, "Now, its my turn."  Ben moved in bringing his lightsaber smashing into the zabrak and before the sith could recover he was already moving again the lightsaber glowing a brilliant orange as it picked up speed scoring small wounds on Soren in more and more places as the sith tried to keep up. Using the force to augment his movements Ben continued to swing his lightsaber in a complicated series of small cuts and slashes before ducking under one of the zabrak's attacks. Ben moved fast and ducked under the attack then rose, knocking Soren's blade aside and decapitating the sith lord. Breathing deeply Ben turned trying to find Dega only to see him being thrown against the wall breathless. Dega collapsed barely conscious against the wall, lightsaber on the ground as Priam sensing his triumph threw himself into the air towards the padawan, lightsaber lit and coming down towards Dega's chest.

Reacting instantly Ben moved with all the speed he could muster through the force arriving in front of Dega just as the sith did. Focusing mainly on protecting the padawan Ben's lightsaber had moved the blade of the sith away from Dega in time but not before it had cut into Ben's side. Yelling Ben thrust the sith back with a force push knocking the angry pureblood backwards but not off his feet. Both rose to their feet, glaring at the other. Ben put a hand to his side and grimaced briefly, "Your move Sith."

"You will both pay with your lives for what you did to my master jedi!" Enraged beyond reason the sith lept through the air and again brought his lightsaber smashing down on Ben. He continued to attack, pushing the jedi back slowly but surely to the wall. Ben's strength was starting to fade but he pressed on defending himself as best as he could. Suddenly the sith threw him back against the wall at short range, flattening him and dropping Ben to his knees. Priam charged but at the last moment Ben dove under the attack and rolling came up behind the sith. Using his momentum Ben spun kicking the sith back into the wall while bringing his lightsaber up and throwing it into the sith apprentice, impaling the man face first in the wall.

Ben retrieved his lightsaber, his eyes glowing bright red as he walked over to Dega. He quickly checked on the padawan and was relieved to find that though Dega had suffered some burns and was unconscious he would be fine. Ben silently used a medpac to tend to both of their wounds and then picked up Dega and the padawans lightsaber and moved from the room. The battle was almost over on the planet. "We are not done yet." Ben whispered.

  5. "General, long-range scanners should a massive energy drop surrounding the enemy flotilla. We think their shields are down, sir!" said an intelligence officer. Ben smiled briefly. You know what to do. I want troops ready and waiting to attack the imperial hover fortress within half an hour. What is the status on Master Aralias and his team?

"I will find out General" The man turned and went off to consult several screens of the surrounding area and the few pictures they could get of the battle in orbit all the while listening to constant chatter over imperial com channels.

Ben turned to Swee'la, "Your highness I must ask you and your guard to remain here. I cannot garuntee your safety in that fortress and right now you are too valuble to the people of Dac. Remain here and send me any vital updates that you and those here find and we will be grateful."

The young Mon Calamari bowed to the tall young jedi, "I understand Master jedi and we will do all we can to aid you from here. Free Dac for us and our future generations so that they may have a home that is free."

"That is why the Remnants and I have come to Dac your majesty. You and your people deserve a home to call your own, this, is it and I will fight for it until I have nothing left to give."

"Padawan Dega I want you to take a team of Mon Calamari and the submarine, go under that fortress and find a way in. Be watchful for any surprises, I doubt they would leave anything unguarded. "

"I would be happy to do so master," said Dega. "But shouldn't you lead the assault under the fortress?"

"No I will be somewhere else drawing the attention away from you. I will lead the frontal assault on the fortress. That is where the fighting will be the hardest and I will be needed most. It will be crucial for us to hold out there and if possible push our way in." Ben smiled grimly, We are the Remnants, we aren't called for the easy jobs."

Ben and the Dac resistance along with the republic troops that would be hitting the fortress head on prepared their gear and moved out heading on small watercraft to the floating fortress. They were spread out over a wide area to avoid being hit as much as possible by the anti personnel turrets and sniper fire that would be on them at any moment. Just moments before they were about to go in Ben's holocommunicator started beeping then he heard Swee'la's voice come over the com channel.

"Master Ben we have just intercepted a transmission from the imperial base to a small transport that will be arriving in moments on the other side of the base. One of our men recognized Master Aralias's voice, it seems they have taken a small transport and will be landing in the imperial fortress."

"Thank you Swee'la. Ok men we have some friendlies that will be mixed in with our enemies so keep an eye out for them. They won't be able to keep up their ruse for long so lets give the imperials something else to think about to hide our friends. Today we fight for your homes and your freedom. Make the sacrifices given count. Move out."

Ben and the army of Dac moved in on the imperial fleet, picking up speed as they went. The shots fired came down like rain towards them peppering the sea. The small watercraft partially evaded the enfilidating fire from the fortress as they moved closer. Suddenly from the western side the Mon Calamari and Quarren forces leaped from the water and began scaling the fortress and making their way in. As the turrets turned towards them the remnants troops fired rockets into three of the turrets providing cover for their allies. Ben and the surviving troops quickly landed at the front of the fortress and began their push in. Leading the way was the tall young jedi in his blue and silver armor with the flashing orange lightsaber blade moving faster then the could follow, deflecting and reflecting the shots that came near him and his men. The remaining turrets were soon destroyed and the men moved deeper into the fortress, fighting every step of the way.

Gradually they separated into smaller groups as they moved on deeper into the fortress. Finally it was only a handful of troopers with Ben as he moved towards the heart of the fortress, the place where he sensed darkness emanating. He had suspected that the empire would leave sith in such an important base and every step closer made his suspicions grow. Ben and the remnants troopers reached a tall blast door. He turned to the men with him.

"I want you all to head down that corridor and find the main control room, meet up with Padawan Dega and help his team out in bringing down this base."

He waited until they moved out and then turned to the blast doors in front of him. After a moment they opened long enough for him to walk in before closing again, leaving Ben in the semi darkness. He strode unafraid down a short hall before walking into a much larger room which was a little brighter but still a grey light hung in the room. Ben stopped finally and ignited his lightsaber, the orange blade flashing to life revealed his clear blue eyes and the defiant smile on his face.

A cold laugh came from across the room. "So jedi you have come a long way to die. I am impressed that you made it into our base but it will not last. Dac is and will now always be controled by the empire from this day forward. When my apprentice and I have finished with you the men still alive will be easy prey for us."

Ben laughed briefly. "Lord Soren, I might have known the empire would send one of your aptitude to try and take over Dac. Come out and face me we will see how you fare compared to your former master."

He was answered by a snarl of rage as a figure lept towards him, scarlet blade igniting and aimed for his head. Ben sidestepped the attack and kicked the figure in the shoulder before straightening and waiting for it to recover.

"So you hide and send your apprentice to meet me Soren? I thought you better then that."

"Very well jedi, you will face us both then since you wish your death so quickly." As he finished light illuminated the room revealing the sith lord as he ignited his own double bladed lightsaber with the yellow blades as he charged Ben.

Ben moved to where both of the sith were in front of him in easy view. "This will be interesting" he whispered as the Sith attacked.

  6. Ben stood quietly listening to the Swee'la,sergeant Cepha, and padawan Vok. His mind was working quickly, trying to form a plan to save the people that were looking to him and his friends to protect him. Suddenly he felt a strange peace descend on all of them. So she is using the battle meditation now, thought Ben, May the force be with you my friend. He turned to the Mon Calamari next to him. Our friends are doing everything they can for us in orbit right now. Its time to take the fight to the imperials here. Sergeant Cepha I need a few of your men and some fast one man watercraft. Padawan Vok I need you to come with me as well. Now here's the plan, he quickly outlined his plan for dealing with the sub. When he finished he saw the slow smiles forming on their faces. Well sergeant do you think your men can make it happen?

Master jedi, it would be our pleasure sir. Said the old Mon Calamari before turning and barking out orders to his men. Ben turned to Swee'la, Your highness all of Dac needs you right now, I need you to gather all of your people together and prepare them for defending your bases and eventually our counter attack on the imperial base. They are ready to fight master jedi, they will do their part to win our homes back, said Swee'la, Ben smiled at the enthusiasm and determination the young ruler showed. It would go a long way to encourage and give confidence to his people in this time of trouble. He bowed to Swee'la, You can count on the Remnants your majesty. We will be right there with you. Now it is time for us to deal with that sub. He nodded to Swee'la. Come with me padawan Dega, I will explain your part of the plan to you on our way. Ben turned to the two Mon Calamari and Quarren standing at attention next to him and Dega and nodded to them. You four will stay with me and distract the sub while padawan Dega here is going to sneak up on it and plant some explosives next to the engines to disable the sub. No heroics out there, Dac needs all of you. Grab anything you need that won't slow you down and get those detpacks to Padawan Dega.

The Dac and padawan Dega quickly moved off to prepare and get things ready, Ben knew it wouldn't take them long. He moved off and got the underwater suit that had been made specially for him at Swee'la's orders a few days ago. He changed swiftly and grabbed his lightsaber before moving off to the meeting place that they had agreed on. It offered good cover from anything above or under the water trying to spot things entering the water and would hopefully allow them all to get into place close to the sub without being seen. Ben sat back and waited patiently for the rest of the team to get there, relaxing a little for the first time in days.

Finally the rest of the team arrived at the small outcropping at the edge of the base. The Mon Calamari and Quarren militia bringing with them small one man propulsion platforms. Nothing more then an engine with guns attached to move single troops quickly and silently through the water. The team ready they all got into the water and moved out towards the last known position of the sub.

An hour later Ben and Dega got lucky spotting the small sub as it released another explosive buoy. Moving into position Ben and the Dac moved around until they were in plain sight of the sub and opened fire. The sub quickly returned fire back at the men causing them to disperse as they each tried to avoid the bursts of fire. One of the Mon Calamari was hit with a glancing blow making him lose grip of his vehicle as he lay stunned in the water. Ben turned and opened fire on the sides of the sub to draw its attention his way then charged towards it, deflecting the shots with his lightsaber. Right at the last second he dived under the sub then rose again quickly past it and kept going. As the sub turned to get a shot in Dega finally got close enough and placed the detpacks he carried next to the engines of the sub. As it fired on Ben again the Nautolan moved to a safe distance and blew the charges bringing the sub to a stop as it lost power completely, drifting dead in the water.

Ben sighed and breathed deeply. He scanned the waters for his team, relieved to see that all were alive, even the one who had been shot by the sub, though the Mon Calamari was hurt badly they had all made it. The empire definitely messed with the wrong masters of underwater warfare when they attacked Dac, He thought. Well done, lets get this thing back to our base, we just might be able to use it to our advantage. Good work padawan.

As they all headed back to the base and a salvage team arrived to move the sub to the base, an idea was forming in the young jedi masters mind, an idea that though crazy just might work.

  7. Ben held his hand up for the troops near him to stop firing and reached out with the force, searching the area around him and his compatriots. Things finally seemed to be calming down on this sector of the base. He signaled the Dac forces near him. Keep an eye on the sector and keep me posted on anything that happens over here. We have to hold this base, our reinforcements will be here as soon as they can. I'm going to go reinforce the east side.

Ben quickly made his way through the base encouraging the Dac resistance fighters as he went. He finally got to the east side and surveyed the area. He saw the imperials ramming their speeders some with bombs on them, into the sides of the base. They had already punched a few smoldering holes in the walls. The Mon Calamari and Quarren were fighting bravely but there were too many imperials for the Dac.

Ben launched himself to the front of the biggest hole that the imperials were trying to push through. Thinking quickly he picked up some piles of debris and threw them into the oncoming speeder bombs with the force. The young jedi moved to the edge of the base and using the force, started pushing the speeders into each other or into the water. On and on they came and still the Dac and Ben held the wall. As they continued Ben built up the force inside of himself and finally unleashed it all, building up a massive wave of water crashing into all of the imperial forces in the area and sending them as broken pieces into the ocean.

Ben took a deep breath and let it out slowly, gazing out over the water in front of the base. He turned to the Dac who were celebrating nearby. They are retreating for now. Get the walls fixed and then get some rest those who aren't on watch. They will return. You have all done well today. He smiled, Well done my friends. Ben turned and began making his way to the command center again, he knew the enemy would return until they were driven off the planet and he wanted to be ready.

  8. Fleet command to Ground Forces Commander, this is General Hun. Your reinforcements have been dispatched. Any sign of Green Team, Master Coran?

This is Master Coran receiving you loud and clear General Hun. We have no news of Green Team. Any idea when they might be down here at base 1?

No news here either Master Coran. You'll have to make do with what you have down there for now until we can get reinforcements to you.

We'll be here to greet them personally General. This is base 1 over and out.

Ben quietly clicked off the com link, then turned and walked back into the fortified command center of the floating base of operations for Dac. He had arrived on the planet a few hours earlier and was doing his best to help the Mon Calamari and Quarren in their fight to hold the planet. Though young for his rank, the jedi master was determined to not fail at this critical point in the planets history.

The tall jedi walked around the base inspecting it, and getting to know its weaknesses and strengths. It also gave him the opportunity to get to know the  native Mon Calamari and Quarren the Remnants were going to be allied with.

Finally he made his way to the heart of the base to see if the Dac were done with their meeting. He needed to speak more with Swee'la the new leader of the combined Dac forces. Ben made his way in and looked around, quickly spotting the young Mon Calamari. He smiled and made his way over to Swee'la. Hello again my friend. I have news for you on our Remnants reinforcements. I trust your meeting with the Dac resistance went well?

Swee'la smiled back at Ben. Yes our friends are ready, soon this base will be fully operational and able to withstand almost anything the imperials can throw at us.

Ben nodded. That is good to hear my friend. Unfortunately my news on our reinforcements is not as good. At the moment our reinforcements are missing in action. General Hun is going to send word to us as soon as he knows anything.

At that moment a small explosion rocked the base, throwing it into an uproar. Ben moved quickly to the computer terminals. We have a breach at sector 3.041. Send in 2 squads, I'll join them there. He turned to Swee'la, I need you to stay here my friend. Your people and Dac need you right now, I will go and make sure things are taken care of. Let me know on the com link any news or updates you have for me. We must hold here and now until our reinforcements arrive. Farewell and may the force be with you, Ben finished in mon calamari.

Ben quickly made his way towards the breach in the base shouting out orders to the Mon Calamari and Quarren to stay calm. Finally he reached the breach where the smoke was still pouring in. Ben readied his lightsaber and stood at the breach the squads of Dac resistance fighters behind him. Show yourself imperials we are not going anywhere. Dac is ours.

He was answered by more explosions and then the attack began.

  9. Ben continued helping get more people onto the ships that he could. He could already tell that there wasn't much room on them but he was getting everyone on that he could. He'd heard Colonel Locke's orders earlier calling for the warships to get back to pick up more people. There are still too many people not on ships, muttered Ben, Some way or other we are getting you all out of here,he said to the men. Ben thought quickly. Then he pulled a small remote out of his pocket and quickly keyed in several instructions before helping them men start getting loaded onto the first of the Remnants warships. He got Ann and Sirian onto ships and the rest of the medical team that was left onto the first warship and started getting the rest of the injured on board. As he and the rest of the people worked a medium sized ship landed next to them. Ben turned on his com link again.

Colonel Locke this is Jedi Master Ben Coran. My ship has landed on the planet now, get as many people on it that you can including you and your men, and get it ready to leave this rock.

After that Ben went back to work getting as many people onto the other ships that he could. Once the first warship was loaded to its maximum capacity Ben immediately gave orders for it to take off, all the while getting people loaded onto the final two warships left. Finally after what seemed like hours later with the asteroid falling apart around them he got the last of the people all loaded onto the last warship and gave it the command to lift off.

Quickly making sure there was no one else left Ben got on board his own ship with Colonel Locke and went to the cockpit and fingers flying over the controls and using the force on some others he swiftly brought the ship to life and lifted it off the ground. He got it to a safe distance above the asteroid then turned it so he could see the final two Republic warships as they were beginning to lift off. The first one got off fine but the second was taking alot longer then Ben liked to get off the ground. He called in on his com link, This is Ben Coran, why is that second ship not off the ground yet Captain? The reply came back quickly over the com channel, This is Captain Donnel, we are having trouble getting off the ground because of the weight on board. Colonel Locke, said Ben Take the controls of my ship, keep us steady right here. I'm going to see if I can give them a boost.

Turning Ben strode quickly to the back of the ship and opened the loading bay. Grabbing on to the support with one hand Ben turned to see the ship still only meters off the ground as the asteroid blew geysers all around blowing anything in their path to pieces. Ben reached out with the force, trying to lift the ship off the ground. He calmed his mind and body down and concentrating heavily he lifted the ship off the ground, bringing it higher and higher. Finally he was able to bring it to the same height as his ship as his strength quickly was draining off. Its engines kicked in and the warship flew off to join the rest of the Republic and remnants warships. Ben slowly moved over and closed the loading bay hatch before making his way to the cockpit with the little strength that remained in him. He sat in the pilots chair and engaged the thrusters powering the ship away from the asteroid just as it blew into a million pieces. Well I don't think we could have cut it much closer then that Colonel said Ben, as he breathed heavily. Its been a long day.

  10. Ben listened to Ann's request and then briefly thought about it before answering her, Very well Ann you can come with me. I'll protect you as much as I can for as long as possible. Ben turned to one of the troopers nearby. Corperal, I want you to take this padawan and get her and yourself to the nearest medical facilities right away. As the man turned to go Ben spoke again, And Corperal, get them off this rock immediately. Yes sir! he said and headed off to the medical department.

Ben turned to Sirian, Ann, and the troopers and nodded to Garyth as he came up while the corperal was leaving with Flouria.Ok we need to take out the enemy docks. There is no time to waste, apparently we might have caused this asteroid to become slightly unstable when we decided to blow it to kingdom come. We have several friendlies on route to the docks as we speak and some their already. Lets get our people off this rock. Everyone fall out, and Ann, you did everything you could to help Kezan. I know you did your best, you have nothing to be sorry or guilty for ok?Ben smiled at them all. Lets move out. We won't be getting off this rock by standing here.

As Ben, Ann, Sirian, Garyth and the troopers made their way to the dockyards as quickly as they could Ben stayed in front of them just enough to make sure no fire got throught to the rest of the group. He blocked any of the blaster fire he could that was heading in their direction, deflecting it back towards the Sith and their soldiers. Ben and those with him continued their charge to the west side of the Imperial dockyards, cutting or blasting through all Sith and Imperial forces in their path. As they moved Ben shielded his eyes briefly as a geyser went off and noticed a Sith and trooper flying back from the explosion caused by the geyser. While the Sith got up quickly, Ben noticed that the trooper was still on the ground when the Sith charged. Ben quickly lept forward, timing his jump to slice through the Sith's lightsaber just before the Sith was about the strike. Ben landed on the ground past the Sith and turned to face him as the enraged sith threw the pieces of his lightsaber away in anger. The man threw a torrent of electricity at Ben but he calmly blocked it with his lightsaber as he moved towards the Sith. Suddenly the sith stopped his use of the force and collapsed to the ground with a surprised look on his face. Ben walked over and helped the trooper up. Hello Jarid. Sitting down on the job now? Come on lets get these people out of here.

Ben rejoined his group and together they all continued pushing forward destroying the towers that guarded the base.

  11. Ben had heard Ann's call over the comlink as she informed him that she was heading in, but he stayed in the same spot covering the fallen padawans in full view of anyone coming into the room. He knew it made him an immediate target if anyone came into the room but that was fine by him so long as he could keep them from spotting and harming the padawans. When he heard Ann nearing the door he called out for her to head in. He smiled and bowed to her briefly before directing her over to the padwans and moving in front of her, shielding her from any danger along with the padawans. Finally Ben sensed Sirian and a small group of troopers closing in on his position also. They entered the room and Ben sent four of the troopers to cover the door and greeted Sirian. Welcome to the armory my friend. You are a little late though. Ben laughed. He watched Sirian go over and scavenge through the sith bodies in the room and finally come up with a security pass card. He rose to his feet and help it up for Ben to see. Ben could guess what Sirian had planned for that card. He caught it as Sirian tossed the card to him. Care to do the honors, Master Coran?

Love to.said Ben. He quickly inserted the card into the security computer. His fingers flew across the keyboard entering in codes of data in seconds. He turned to Sirian and Ann. Time to leave everyone. Ben walked over and picked up Fluoria from off the floor and activated his com link. This is jedi master Ben Coran. All Remnants in the proximity to the armory need to fall back now. Detonation time is in 3 minutes. Ben shut off the com link and turned to Ann and Sirian. Lets move out. Ann stay with me for now. Troopers rear guard, everyone follow me.

After making sure everyone had started moving out Ben took the lead, carrying the unconscious Fluoria as he led the way quickly through the halls of the armory. Dodging and weaving around the debri from his teams entry into the armory Ben finally brought the group out of the Armory and got them behind cover several hundred yards away from the building and to the rear to avoid any opposition at the front of the building. Just as they got behind cover the armory disapeered into a ball of flames. Ben quickly shielded all of them behind a force shield just in case. When the area settled again Ben spoke to Ann and Sirian. I'm going to make sure Ann and Fluoria get to safety, then I'm going to hit the barracks. I got some feedback on the security systems from here earlier about things going on over there so I'm going to give whoever is over there what help I can. What do you plan on doing Sirian?

  12. Ben ignited an orange lightsaber as he stared at the three Sith warriors in front of him. Be ready for anything you two. These sith aren't going to go easy on you and will kill you without a second thought. I'll help both of you as much as I can but your going to be on your own mostly. May the force be with you both.

Ben started forward his eyes never leaving the Sith warrior in front of him. Keza and Fluoria both moved forward to stand against the other two warriors but Ben paid little attention to them, staying focused on the Sith in front of him.

Suddenly the sith flew forward attempting to cut Ben in half, but he was already gone, anticipating the blow he moved to the left and knocked one of the warriors blades back into the other. Then Ben spun to the right then back to the left deftly blocking and knocking back both cuts from the Sith's lightsabers. Ben continued to block the Sith's attacks easily using the Soretsu form, waiting for an opening in his opponents defences to strike. Seeing a small opening Ben ducked under the Siths attack and sliced through the hilt of one of the Siths lightsabers. Angered the sith attacked back harder then ever trying to break through Ben's defence.

Out of the corner of his eye Ben saw Keza thrown against far wall before he hit the ground. He could hear something snap when the zabrak hit the wall, Keza cried out in pain and his lightsaber dropped from his hand. Keza stared up at the Sith as he brought his lightsabers up to finish him off. There was a flash of orange and the Sith stared at the orange lightsaber blade going through his chest before he dropped lifeless to the floor.

On seeing Keza about to be killed Ben had thrown his opponent back against the far wall before throwing his own lightsaber into Keza's opponent while he was distracted. Now he prepared himself as his own opponent got to his feet and charged. Timing his attack Ben waited until the Sith brought his lightsaber up to kill him and stepped in close grabbing the Sith warriors hand, stopping the attack. Then twisting his body, Ben turned the Sith's lightsaber on himself killing the warrior.

Ben quickly retrieved his lightsaber from the fallen Sith then turned and threw the Sith attacking Fluoria into the the ceiling then the wall. Go try and help Keza, Fluoria. I will deal with this Sith. Ben turned to face the Sith as he got to his feet, rage emenating from his face. Why won't you fools just die! said the Sith. Ben laughed. I'm sorry but my schedule is too full for that today. Can I see if that fits in sometime in the future? Enraged the Sith charged. Ben ignited his lightsaber and blocked the Sith's attacks. The sith attacked again, and again cutting and slicing at Ben but he only blocked and countered the attacks calmly and methodically. Ben's eyes grew darker in color turning to a deep purple before taking on more red in color. Shocked the Sith stepped back staring at the flames in Ben's eyes. What are you? he asked.

I am a jedi, said Ben before igniting his second orange lightsaber and taking on a new stance. Bring it on Sith, furious the Sith attacked with more fury then before, electricity radiating from him. Ben lept through the air closing the distance between them in seconds and bringing his lightsabers around at the Sith with more and more speed. The warrior tried to keep up but he was losing stamina too fast. Finally Ben saw him lunge too far and quickly cut the Sith's lightsabers into pieces. The warrior retaliated with lightning striking out at Ben and when that proved to no affect he turned it on the padawan's. He quickly knocked Fluoria unconscious from the pain and then tried to bring more power into it so he could destroy everyone in the room. His power slowed and stopped altogether then as his body fell to the floor, cut in half by twin orange lightsabers.

Ben extinguished his lightsabers, and put them away, quickly heading over to the padawans and checking on them. He quickly went and brought up the com link again. The is jedi master Ben Coran. The main control is down to the armory but I have some injured here that need attention. Please send a healer in as soon as is possible. I will defend them.

  13. Ben stared down at the battlefield momentarily. He had gotten off the Hammer like the rest of the men and women with him but he was taking an extra moment to study the field of battle before leading his men in. He recognized when it was time for action as well as anyone but he preffered to study the field a little more before jumping in. From past experience he knew a few extra moments planning could save the lives of many. He noted the power generators, armory and docking yards in the distance, as well as noting that both sides were making some headway but not much yet. The sith clearly outnumbered the jedi and their allies many times over, but now the Remnants had come and the tide was beginning to turn.

Turning to his men Ben gave the signal to move out. As they gathered their gear and suited up quietly Ben briefed them on his plan.Right now the armory is our chief objective, that is where they have most of their men and equipment. If we can shut that down or block area's off then we give the rest of our friends out there more room to manuver and give them a better chance to kick the sith off this rock with as little life lost as possible. We are going to move in behind them and sneak into the armory from the rear. Once we get in we'll head for the main control room and try to secure that. Any questions he asked? Seeing none Captain Crow spoke up, None sir, when do we leave? Ben smiled Right now Captain, move out!

It took them a few hours to get there but Ben decided he would rather give the Sith some extra room so they had less chance of being seen. Ten men they all knew was not going to be enough to stop much if they took all of the attention from the Sith in the base, no matter how good they were.

When they finally arrived within seeing distance of the armory Ben slowed them down. He halted them finally just out of sight on a small hill about a hundred meters behind the armory. Then crawling forward to the top of the hill they silently searched out the security cameras and lookouts stationed on top of and on the outside of the building. Then Ben turned to the men,I'm going to try and cloak all of us in the force long enough for us to get into the armory. The cameras won't be able to pick us up and that way we should be able to get into the building undetected. After that though we're going to be visible so we're going to have to move quickly. Get your equipment ready we move out in two minutes.

When they were all ready Ben gave the signal to move out. In seconds he had the group concealed as best as he could, using the force to make them blend in with the rocks and surface of the asteroid. He had the men move slowly so he could the blend them in without them making small blurs on the cameras intermitently. He remembered when he had practiced the technique and other methods of training for many hours on end to perfect it and so he could know its strengths and weaknesses. When they finally got to the door Ben quietly used the force to open it before stepping through and closing it after the last of his men. Ben took a deep breath,So far so good,He thought.

Motioning the men on, Ben and the men moved quietly but quickly through the armory, the squad covering the corridors and stairwells thoroughly. Any guards they found were silently dispatched by the group, sooner or later they knew the Sith would know they were there but Ben hoped it wouldn't be until it was too late to stop them.

Finally they reached the main control room and Ben halted the men outside.Captain have two of your men put charges on that door, he ordered. They finished quickly then took cover behind the walls. On my mark, said Ben as he walked up to a few feet in front of the door. NOW!

As soon as the charges went off Ben dashed into the room, his force shield easily blocking him from harm from the blast as he charged into the room with his men following soon after. His twin orange lightsabers flashing and glinting off the blue armor he wore, Ben quickly cut down the sith in the room. The battle was over in seconds, the soldiers and commanders never being given a chance to raise the alarm.

After checking to see how his men were doing Ben stationed them around the room and had them locking off the sith and soldiers in their rooms. Then grabbing a com link he called out,

Remnants of hope, This is jedi master Ben Coran. The main control room has been secured. Does anyone read me?
