Fun times were had last night!

What Purpose: Giganotosaurus Taming

Level of Giga? 44

Result: Failure (but quite the fun!)

Attempt 1

I'm on my quetz and Trin first goes to her quetz but then is picked up by Nessa on her argent, I put Smudge (trin's quetz) on follow and we begin.  This Giga ran...ALOT! We'd get maybe 4 arrows in and he'd go off another way, it got to where every time nessa or trin would talk he would start running away, so we started making sure neither said a word (still didn't work :P). At some point the Giga took a turn under some trees, we couldn't see it so somehow, when I went slightly under to see if I could spot him, Smudge decided to go under my bird right in the Giga's eye level...and subsequently became lunch (sadface, this has now become personal for Trin!). After 2 broken bows, about 200 arrows wasted and night falling, we decide it's good to pack it in and head back to base to restock, wait for morning, and try for attempt 2

Attempt 2

691 arrows, 3 bows, 1 being Nessa's Purple bow, and Daylight on our side we head back out, Trin fell!  and died...promptly. Nessa grabs trins things and goes back to pick her up, comes back, Fortune favors us and giga is stuck in a wall face, He goes unconcious!  but high up on the wall so I have to fly above him and jump down on him, they put the prime on my bird... I transfer over...but realize there was no narco on my bird...OH NO, they forgot to put the narco on my quetz!... Torpor is dropping fast, I say.. "Narco?" oh great... I fall down and am stuck between the cliff face and a rock, as Nessa is rushing to get me the narco and me to safety, something wakes up and takes a big chunk out of me...Nessa saves me barely! Trin goes running the other way on foot, my poor quetz regardless of being whistled to come back home decided he was a bigger dino than the Giga... he thought wrong.

We call it there, down 2 quetzals, alot of arrows, some prime meat, deaths, BUT ALOT OF FUN!

server was reset at the beginning of the year. 

should be the same, then again, word is the Server is being reset with the new year.  so maybe the password changed too?

I managed to tame a 2nd quets last night... Female to go with yogi... And of course u cant forget randy mosasaur

I am online now, just managed to knock out a level 44 quetz while standing on the back of yogi. now ready for a long tame as I only have the 5 rex kibble from taytes fridge and 2 stacks of 20 raw meat... hope its enough

oh and it's female too... so quetz eggs here we come

I maintain that I haven't cheated on any tame that I have done solo. which is basically all of my personally owned dinos.Aside from that, knocking out a mosa is actually easier than what we made it out to be. This one i found off the coast se of the base, not too far from the first one we found. Took about 30 arrows, but overall not that hard... He only goes up so far and then never gets farther... So u find that spot on ples, hop off and fire above him.

hardest part is getting the meat w/o it waking up... Uses about 11 torpor every second...

and yeah its a lvl 4 when i tamed him, so i figure a higher lvl would be a longer tame

EDIT: I would like to go out for another tho.  level 4 was just a test on a strat to see if it worked, since I know it works, getting a higher level tame would be ideal...(ie I wouldn't waste mats on a platform saddle on this one

wait a sec... there was no update to 220 today... it hasn't been released... the only update today was 219.6 and I did that before work, server was up when I went and it was up just before I took it down to update for no reason ;) 

Ill update when i get home...updated this morning... Wasnt aware 220 dropped today as no eta was posted... Funny, they post an eta and it gets pushed back 20 times... They dont and it gets put out immediately

Also, xanat and I sought after a mosa tonight... and realized very quickly that we are gonna need more hands on deck to even knock one out, let alone tame it.

I'm on now... came up to an Adolescent Alpha II. about 80% done with maturation

Why?

so I now have a fertilized Trex egg, that is incubating... but if im seeing this correctly... its gonna take just about as a standard tame does.  and it's a little harder than a tame... you have to constantly monitor the temp...and if it says to cold..activate a campfire or 2, and if it says too hot turn off the campfires until it reads incubating. If it still says too hot or too cold you need to move it to a location that is more temp friendly

I saw... trying to access the panel for the server but IM having trouble... keeps timing out

that sounds incredibly complicated...and very time consuming equalling to a very exciting time!
