  1. "Two lifeforms, and a third nearby contacting the others on Imperial Intelligence frequency." Cam'ek observed. "Well, this is getting interesting then, I suppose I had better meet the neighbors."

No sooner had he finished his sentence than he heard the scream of a ship entering the planet's atmosphere at what could only be called a collision course.  "Great, it is a trap." Kaliyo fumed "And I wanted to kill stuff so badly!  You know, 'No survivors' and all"

Cam'ek picked up the comm chatter of the incoming ship.  "No, it's not a trap." he confirmed, "Apparently that's one of our guests and they seem to be slightly insane.  Most likely a sith."  Cam'ek could deal with a sith, he could deal with an angry sith, but he questioned whether it was worth it to deal with a crazy sith.  They were completely unpredictable and could strike out with no warning, more often than not ruining his best laid plans.  "Just another mess to clean up I suppose. You stay here Kaliyo, I'll stay in touch if I need you."

"Really?" she griped, "you're gonna drag me to this frozen snot ball and leave me here?  Fine.  Just don't look for me to run to your rescue like some puppy."

Cam'ek smiled and turned away, Kaliyo was brusque, but she was always that way, and he could count on that.  He set is personal communicator to the standard Imperial frequency and turned it on.

"Well everyone," he said to all the people in the area, "looks like the party is just starting up.  Obviously we are here for our prospective skill sets so what say we gather together and just see what we have.  Here, I'll start.  My specialties include espionage and murder.  See you soon."  And with that, he turned off his comm and started walking to the gathering that was beginning to form.  He had shown some of his hand, so he didn't bother with stealth.  Anyone who had access to what was left of his file would know what he was about.

"Well," he said to himself, "no going back now."

  2. **IMPERIAL**

"Hoth!  Why did we have to come here?!" Kaliyo complained loudly as they walked out of the landing bay.  The ice planet had retained all its former charm that only a frozen desolate graveyard can provide.  Cam'ek shrugged as they mounted on speeders to head to the location of the one particular pile of wreckage they were looking for in a sea of durasteel hull plating and frozen skeletons of lost souls.  Kaliyo had scanned the coordinates given upon their arrival and found life signs around the area.

"They're just waiting," Cam'ek observed, "what a waste of time."

    "What's the plan?" Kaliyo asked.

"Simple," replied Cam, "we go in, we get the intel, we get out.  No point wasting time waiting for someone to make the first move."  Of course, only a fool would walk into the center of a trap without a few tricks up his sleeve, and Cam had some good tricks.

As they began to approach the coordinates, Cam'ek brought them to a halt and left Kaliyo to mind the speeders while he took care of the objective.  Always with his trusty stealth belt, Cam began to make is way on foot toward a hulking behemoth of a vessel.  The old, rusted ship appeared to be a research vessel of some kind and had held up a good deal better than some of the wreckage in the area.  The ship appeared to be mostly intact, although it wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon with two of the ship's massive engine assemblies lying in parts beside the derelict.

As he made his approach, Cam'ek realized there was something wrong here.  Besides the early Imperial arrivals who were biding their time to take advantage of any situation to rise in power, this ship was wrong.  Cam'ek went back to Kaliyo.

"There's definitely something wrong here." He said. "It may just be a trap, it may be worse, but I think we should let some other boob spring this, then take advantage of the situation."

  3. Cam'ek walked into his apartment on Drummond Kaas, tired from his latest assignment in the core.  For all their "vaulted security" he wasn't even noticed.  One of the things they taught you in Imperial Intelligence, the best place to hide is in plain view, and no one questioned him as he delivered the package to his contact.  His contact was good, and could get the information package to his operative, Danatha before things got too out of hand in his current assignment.

As he walked out of the elevator, he froze.  Someone had been here.  He went to a data readout of the planet and ran a full scan of the apartment, checking for any sentients or modifications and doing a full sweep for any monitoring devices.  When the scan came back, there was only one change, an item in the hallway that had not been there before.  After a moment's scan, he was able to assure himself there wasn't any explosives or poisons.  "Although if it had been either, it would be too late now," he thought to himself. "I'm getting rusty."

Cam'ek walked to the hallway and looked at the item laid on one of the hall tables.  It was a small box of paper-like material, but slightly stronger.  The lid was held down with a small bit of adhesive.  He opened the box.

"Father, you sentimental idiot." he said as he revealed a small chocolate cake with the words Happy Birthday written out in red icing.  The cake was fresh, which meant it most likely arrived today.  And knowing his adoptive father Vyrigan, Cam'ek didn't doubt that he came to Drummond Kaas himself to deliver it.  He probably used his Force ability to see when Cam would be back on planet, as no one knew his itinerary, not even Intelligence.  "I hope his SIS contact getting him on planet is at least competent.  I wonder how SIS would feel if they knew this trip was to drop off a cake for an adopted son."  Cam'ek didn't doubt that this was the primary reason for Vyrigan's visit.  He had a bad habit of following his heart.

Cam'ek took off his glove and ran a finger through the rich chocolate icing.  The taste brought back memories of happier moments, before he became who he was.  Ever since he was a child, he couldn't help but enjoy the savory sweet flavor of chocolate.  And he had to at least indulge himself now before disposing of the cake and box in the modified recycler in his house, designed to break items down completely.  A handy modification to prevent traces of DNA or such from sticking around for unwelcome investigators to find.  It would do no good for anyone to know that a Jedi had access to his public house.  He needed to keep this facade available for Imperial use.

After disposing of the cake, and now wishing he had eaten more, he went to his room to his secure holoterminal.  He had to maintain contact silence during his mission to keep friend and foe off his trail.  Frankly, it had been a nice change from the normal comm chatter, but now that he has back on planet, it was time to get back to business.  He ran the algorithm he designed to search for specific content by keyword, sender, and location.  The first message that came up surprised him, the system couldn't track the source of the message, which flagged it as high priority.

    You know who you are--

Cam'ek read the message twice, making sure he had what few details were provided in the cryptic message.  He disliked secrets, especially if he didn't know them.  Normally he would reach out to Intelligence for background, but not this time.  The nature of the message made Cam'ek decide to investigate on his own.  Since Intelligence didn't know he was back on planet anyway, why not let them think he was still on mission?  It would make this investigation easier.  He contacted Kaliyo.

"What's up?" she asked, in a groggy tone.

"Prep the ship," Cam'ek said "We're getting out of here."

"Fine," Kaliyo responded, "I hate staying anywhere too long anyway, although this is a new record for you, what, only 2 hours?"

"I'd rather get out of here before they realize I'm back." Cam'ek replied "We have some work to do and it pays, but I'd rather not have to deal with Intelligence"

"Now you're speaking my language, give me 15 minutes." With that, Kaliyo cut the comm and Cam'ek gathered the items he would need.  He would see what was going on, and he would be who he needed to be to get the job done.  Whoever else might be there, he would deal with them as needed, be it with support or removal.  This is what he did after all, and there were few better in the galaxy.
