  1. So, I'm trying to write a science fantasy series and I need some help explaining the actions of the antagonist.  There's a multiverse, with a world that serves as its overwatch.  A stone from this world accidentally activates and teleports to the most unlikely spot: A young man's brain.  The stone gives the man special powers.  So, what I want is for the antagonist from the overwatch world (he's the ruler)  to use the man to bring together the multiverse under his rule (without explicitely stating these plans).  He acts as the man's mentor, but then the truth is discovered in later books.  So my question is, how can I have, the antagonist as the man's mentor while simultaneously having the armies of the overwatch world as the main source of conflict?

  3. Jade and Sephora Browerst, brother and sister, were born and raised in Davon's Watch.   Jade was three years older then Sephora and, after their parents' death, took it upon himself to be her guardian.  Though they were related, they differed greatly in skill.  Jade was a fighter, and a darn good one. He was naturally gifted in blending in with the surroundings too,  which happened to draw attention from some unpleasant people.  They wanted him to do some things for them, but he always declined. He always followed the law.

Sephora was different (save for the law-abiding).  She was most certainly not a fighter; her animals did that for her.  She had a gift when it came to animals.  She could win their loyalty almost as soon as they saw her.  She was also trained in restoration magic, which came in handy when Jade came home all bloodied up from some skirmish.  Unlike her brother, she was a very outgoing person, always very friendly to anybody she met.

By the time Jade was 16 years old (making Sephora only 13), Soldiers from the Daggerfall Covenant came and terrorized the town, killing his and Sephora's parents.  Over the months, the attacks had become more frequent, and the guard was dwindling.  Fifty of the town's young men, Jade included, banded together under the tutelage of an old war veteran to train themselves to be a secret guard.  The veteran, an expert in the art of hand-to-hand combat, developed a his own technique over the years.  This technique he taught the men.  It was nothing like anyone had seen before.  The men developed uniforms to mark each other, and to conceal themselves, for no one but them knew of their gatherings.  After seven months of training,  the men had the opportunity to put their skills to the test, for another raid had commenced.   The men had done wonders in the fight.  Out of the 100 or so soldiers, only 15 had escaped with their lives.

One day, Jade and a couple of the men from Davon's Blade (That is the name they dubbed their group), went camping.  On one evening, Jade went out to hunt for some food.  He heard footfall coming from his left, so he turned that direction, drawing his knives.  He saw nothing, but the steps were getting closer.  a large beast was running right at him.  By the time he could make out what it was, it was too late.  It was a Werewolf.  How a werewolf landed in these parts was a mystery to him, but he didn't have time to think about it as the beast sank his teeth into Jade's shoulder. He was able to ward off the beast, but not without sustaining a few more (minor) injuries.  Jade was fully aware of the controversy surrounding Werewolves (and other man-beasts), so he fled from the campsite, and headed straight home.  He was surprised he didn't bleed out before reaching home. As soon as he did,  Sephora healed his wounds.  She was the only other person who knew about the werewolf.

Over the next couple of days, Jade tried to figure out how he was gonna live with the infection.  He decided that this could be a good thing, giving Davon's Blade a greater advantage against the soldiers.  He  learned how to do the ritual, and performed it, thus becoming a fully-fledged werewolf.  Sephora wasn't too pleased, having a long list of objections (understandably), but she couldn't stop him.  over the next couple of months, being careful to conceal his lycanthropy, Jade trained himself to try to keep his consciousness when in werewolf form.  He was getting better, but not perfect.

When Jade had just turned 20, the DC struck Davon's Watch again.  This attack was larger than the ones from years past.  During a fight with some of the raiders, someone struck Jade on the back of the head,  knocking him out.  An incalculable amount of time passes when he wakes in a dark room with a splitting headache.  He exits the room into a larger, emptier room.  Emptier, save for a handful of people who appeared to suffer the same fate as he.  This began his adventures with the Circle of Hope.

  4. Good Evening all.

Here is a recent update on the progress of the fleet carriers:

Frontier plans to give a pre-recorded stream on Youtube on April 2, at 18:00 (UTC), which will relate al the details about these new carriers.  They did give us some details, however.

For starters, the cost of these carriers, upon release, is going to be a whopping 5,000,000,000 Cr (I mean, we all saw this comin').

Each carrier will have 16 landing pads

The carriers have a new fuel known as Tritium.

You can manage your carrier's finance by setting tariffs, adjusting the buying and selling prices of commodities in your Carrier's market (I didn't know it had one...Cool).

The carrier has a max jump of 500Ly.  You can jump whenever you want, but do note that there is a cooldown, and warmup, with each drive.

There will be two betas before the update goes live.  The first is for PC only, and begins on April 7th.  The next beta, for all platforms, begins in May.

These were all pulled from a post on Steam (I basically copy/pasted this).

So who's ready to grind out 5 Billion Credits?

  5. Hey guy's!

I know we haven't actually done anything with this group yet.  Would y'all still be interested in trying to do something?  If so, do you guys have any ideas on some events we could set up (kinda like the other divisions)?  maybe a mining day here, an exploring day there...something like that?

  6. So, there's a game on steam that I enjoy playing called Planetside 2.  It's an open-world, Multiplayer FPS, and the main objective is for your faction (there are three) to capture all areas on the continent before anyone else does.  If anyone is interested, I would love to see if we can put together a squadron one of these days.

    What do you think?

  7. Sounds good @Kriege7.  If we can make the Squadron RoH affiliated, that would be great.  If you have other friends you want to add to the squadron, also great (maybe we can persuade them to join the interest group :) ).  I wouldn't mind playing on Mobius PvE.  As for what Superpower, I'm currently with the Alliance, but I'll be happy to defect to any other power y'all choose. My personal choice would be Federation (so I can get that permit to go to Sol)  but I'll let y'all decide.
