  1. Tagging all the lovely people interested in Civ @Darkbringer105 @Telana @Marbass @KalianVan @Tzunamis @ShogunTaira @SyntheticPlayer
  2. Great ideas! I love the breakdown of timeframes and discussing the books in sections instead of just at the end! A book every other month would probably be a better timeframe and allow more people to participate
  3. There will be no group BotM for December, everyone enjoy your holidays and brainstorm on ideas for the New Year! We'll likely be tackling less books for 2019, maybe one every other month or one a quarter? Feel free to post your thoughts here @Nyx @RhemaTom @Ellenore @Cyth27 @Kell @Serenitee @Ezoura
  4. Harry Potter for life! I really need to re-read those again, it has been far too long since I did. How is the Gentleman Bastard series? I haven't read them yet. Also, the Stormlight Archive is absolutely amazing. I listened to the graphic-audio audiobook for most of the first two, definitely a great experience for me So many books, so little time... ps I am currently reading Extinction Machine (Joe Ledger series #5) by Jonathan Maberry https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15793091-extinction-machine Rise of Aen by Damian Shishkin (I ran into this local author at a fan expo a few years ago and after a good chat I bought the first two books on the spot. Have purchased the rest of the series since then). https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21443364-rise-of-aen

    Happy belated birthday!!

  6. I'm having trouble getting my hands on a copy of this, if it just me? Does anyone have a link to an online store where I can buy it? @Nyx
  7. So I really enjoyed this novel! I felt bad because I have several books going for me at once while getting started in this one. However, once Whisper and Baric started on their expedition with the other Rangers, I did not put this book down until I was finished reading! I felt like there was a strong influence from Lord of the Rings, but the story and backgrounds were well thought out and perfectly capable of being on their own! I really liked the calendar system used. My only complaint is that is wasn't long enough Definitely will be getting the rest of the series soon so I can continue the adventure. Been awhile since I started a series that was already completed.Thank you @RhemaTom for this delightful read
  8. Hello all you bookworms! Apologies for the mass tagging but I'd like to build upon our group Book of the Month participation and further activity within the group. Seems like we don't have a lot of people on the current list, this is possibly because this thread is super secretive? Not sure . BotM participation has been less every month while membership keeps growing steadily, so maybe tagging everyone at once will help! If you would like to be added to the notification list, please either like this post or comment with below Notifications are not that frequent, mostly you'd be notified when Nominations start, when voting for the BotM opens, and when discussion begins. Happy reading!! @WallStreet @Nethian @DreamingofRoses @Kushluk Shimazu @Ezoura @ReignGoddess @Pinkatron2000 @Carswell13 @Tobrus @Windchimes @rabidus6 @Zenel @deusgosta @Kell @Slailie @Spacewalker @Nyne @Chelly @Angelyxx @Unnameable @Cyconax @Elidien @dark_kitten @Rhorn @Four @Lale @witchbolts @gryphon_42 @VoxelBase @Saal @SyntheticPlayer @Skaal @thefinalb0ss @Vil @ryebread @Acies @Elisel @Serenitee @Eriam @Raventoo @Jixara @Tzunamis @Feldspar @Hrom @CheekyMonkey66 @MeRB @T'rissanna'niss @lixxen @Simple @Marjevante @Kemenril @Frarry @MrChavez1234
  9. I'm feeling at a loss for a theme or starting nomination for this one. So please feel free to bring forward anything at all that you think everyone would enjoy! A link to Goodreads or something similar is preferred @Ellenore @RhemaTom @Nyx @Cyth27
  10. Goblin it is! Better go grab your copies everyone
  11. I was trying to find a way to insert my Goodreads currently reading shelf widget into my signature or a forum post... but I guess there is no html support for that? Anyway, I am currently working on three books! New Spring by Robert Jordan - this is my first attempt on reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Very easy and interesting read so far! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/187065.New_Spring A Whisper in the Shadows by Tom Fallwell - the September BotM https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/31567511-a-whisper-in-the-shadows Extinction Machine by Jonathan Maberry - #5 in the Joe Ledger series. Trying hard to get caught up on this series since #10 is coming out this month! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15793091-extinction-machine
  12. Discussion is now open for this novel by @RhemaTom! I am still finishing this one up, but will be posting my comments soon
  13. Alright everyone, the poll is up!! I added Fireman by Joe Hill just to give a third option Please get the votes in by Friday October 5th. @RhemaTom @Cyth27@Ellenore@Nyx Goblin: A Novel in Six Novellas by Josh Malerman https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/36044967-goblin?ac=1&from_search=true It by Stephen King https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/830502.It?from_search=true Fireman by Joe Hill https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29875363-the-fireman?from_search=true
  14. Votes will start in a couple days, anyone else have recommendations?
  15. Just a reminder that September is coming to a close and we'll be discussing this book soon
  16. Lol oops... That was a typo! Not a series haha. Great book though
  17. I made it through this for the first time a few years ago. What a read! I wonder if the fellow RoHians are up to the challenge?
  18. I am very excited for the 10th installment of the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry next month. Although I am currently only on #4, this guy really knows how to deliver consistently and give you a thrill. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/37638241-deep-silence
  19. @SyntheticPlayer I am loving the Dresden Files. It usually takes me a bit to get into each book, but once you get a good chunk in then the book just flies by and I'm all of a sudden done! For further urban fantasy and something a little different for a magic system, I would recommend the Night Watch series by Sergei Lukyanenko https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/359375.Night_Watch It's been translated from Russian and audiobooks in English are also available now (that is how I made it through most of the series).
