For those who aren't aware, League of Legends has become so popular across the world that not only are there regular tournaments within various countries, but there's actually a World Championship in which the best teams from regions across the world (North America, Europe, Korea, China, SE Asia) compete to take home the championship cup. Total prize pool for the tournament this year is $2,000,00 with the winning team taking home $1,000,000.
The final match between SK Telecom (Korea) and Royal Club (China) is tonight! Coverage begins at 11:00 PM (EST).
For once I have a Friday night to myself, so I'll be tuning in to watch the whole event and wanted to see if anyone else will be watching, too. Maybe we can gather in TeamSpeak and have our own viewing party. Feel free to watch even if you aren't familiar with the game - I think you'll be amazed by how huge the event actually is (for reference, they've sold out the Staples Center in LA).
Predictions? Bets? Favorites? I am, unfortunately, a CLG fan, so it's been a long time since I rooted for any team in particular. Royal Club is looking really strong after their game against Fnatic, but I'm not as familiar with SKT. I just hope it's a close match!
