Remnants of ARK - Ragnarok RP

I have been here six weeks now and have decided it was time to write some of this crazy nightmare down.  I got the idea when I found pages of a journal in the some ruins I stumbled across.  Reading across the barely legible writing of someone who looked to be possible ancient Greek, I realized it would have been very helpful to know half of what this guy knew.

So here we go.

My name is First Lieutenant Tallauh Locklear, USAF Medic.  

I arrived on… Where ever this is, six weeks ago.  Not sure what the date is.  With no memory of how I had gotten here or any idea what day it was.  The start of a growing list of questions to write down.

We had been returning from a rescue mission over the Atlantic near Florida, when the helo started losing altitude then nothing.  

When I woke, this odd thing was imbedded in my arm and my clothes were missing.  

The beach was hot enough I hoped I was washed ashore in the Bahamas but afraid it was really Cuba land I was standing on.  Within a few minutes of hearing the wildlife bugle out their warning calls about stranger on beach, I realized it was for sure not in Kansas.  The air was filled with sounds unlike any animal I was familiar with.  

I have done some exploring and learned a few things about where I am.

Some Known Facts I have learned:

1. We are on an unknown Island with invisible barrier surrounding it.

2. Humans are dropped aka imported in.

3. Each of us is embedded with Specimen Implant in wrist.  This can not be removed without limb removal but can be viewed.  

4. Death is not always the end.  Sometimes we are brought back.

5. Dinosaurs are inhabitants as well.

6. The Dinosaurs are not quite the same as thought and many are from different periods of earth history.

7. Artifacts and Obelisks are on island and look to have been there a while.

8. Survival Drops are made at random spots and times.

9. Someone/thing is watching and/or caring for the island.

10. The science of our captors is way above any current abilities of earth.  

Unknown Questions still to learn:

1. Not for sure this is Earth

2. No idea how humans are dropped

3. No idea why humans are dropped on island

4. No idea what day/year it is.

5. No idea who or what is doing this or why.

May the gods be kind and watch over me so I may see my family again one day.

What you need to know for character creation : You are lost at sea (or went down in a some sort of airship over the ocean). During your wreck you lost consciousness and woke up on the beach some time later with a odd device in your arm.

For those interested, We have a RP focused Server administered by @Teluial and provided by @Ereosa. We are on Ragnarok map, and currently have 7 mods.  Having them and map downloaded ahead of time makes joining for the first time faster.

Settings are Max Dino level 60, 2x tame, 2x dino food consumption (4x tames total), 3 hour long days 1 hour long night, 2x gather, 2x spoil time, 12x breeding time (a sheep should be able age up to adult in 1 in game day)

Well last night a Giga paid us a visit.  I really hate unannounced quests.  Always a rush to find food to apease them and then they never leave when you want.  

I think he upped the taming a bit but recent change as we were all missing imprinting.  So have to ask @Ereosa or @Chaos exactly what it is.  

Hit me up if I am in game for Tribe invite if you want or I can bring gifts of metal tools.   Viking Bay is death incarnate.  Why that is recommended spawn point is most likely a Dev's nasty joke

Which one is The Center Map?

None.  The Center Map and Scorched Earth Map are not being run at the moment.  But as interest wains for one map/server type Ererosa tends to remove one and add new map.  He can only run three atm.  Ark is a hog.

Last night 05/02/17 we had a great event.  Thank you @Armaros for setting it up.  

Hunger games type PvP.  We went in naked and unarmed.  It was hilarious and so much fun that many continued to play it even after finished.

Kyle was the hands down winner with three captures. Sneaky butt.  Rain gets mention for staying out the longest and myself got the meanie award for ... well being mean.  Ask Telana why or Armaros.  

We must do this again.

Also Thank you for hosting the RoH Arktopia.  You have made it possible for all of us to play together and have so much fun playing together to make a great Ark community.

Character Background:  Maya was born into the Great House of Hlaalu.  Her father, Veyn Hlaalu was a wealthy merchant in Devon’s Watch, with a great many ships.  Middle daughter of three, Maya had an older sister, Marisae, and Morithia the youngest.  The eldest would of course run the business with her father, as her right of birth foretold.  Maya and Mori were to marry well and bring more status to their family.  Their lives were planned out the day of their birth.  But until an age to do so, her parents looked for ways to keep the children out of the way.  So at age 14 she was sent off to study at the Ebonheart Great Academy of Magic in Deshaan, Shad Astula.  Her mother pleased to have another daughter out of the way and her father was relieved to only worry about growing his name and business.  Maya did not mind either, she was happy roaming about the hillsides and honing her skills in archery and magic.  

Quiet and shrewd, most of the students learned quickly that Maya was not one to mess with.  Her slights were always rewarded with cunning payback.  By her nineteenth birthday, she was well respected and yet few friends.  One day a mage arrived at the school.  She was not privy to the reason but learned it later when too late.  He was handsome and almost every female was smitten, including her baby sister Mori.

Ooooooo yes.  Building is huge.  You get the basic walls, platforms, roofs and then build what ever you want.  It even has rafts to build houses on or some large dinos let you put houses on.  They even have tree platforms for building homes in trees.  Can build where ever you want and if you don't then will die.  lol  Everyone needs somewhere to hide and stay warm.  Chaos and Gywnn and Rain are amazing builders.     Check out Ark building on Youtube

Exo, we still play a little.  There are three or four private servers that have RoH members on them.  

It is a pretty and dangerous sandbox. With dino taming and hunting.  I love it.  There are a few bugs to work out but still a great game in my opinion.  

Type in Remnants for server name on Unofficial.  It might take a bit to get in as there are mods on each server.  Hope in TS some night and I will walk you through it. 

there are dungeons and Bosses to try out both on land and in water.  The graphics are pretty.

Everyone has to redownload the Hair mod.  It was the one causing issues.

A bit slow at the moment but usually someone hops on to play.  They are also in TS Chatroom 1 all the time.

Ok Tribute is gotten for a second try.  Anyone interested in taking down the Manticore this Saturday evening be ready and we will give it another go.

@Chaos Thanks Chaos.  I read there was an update on this mod late last night.  Could we just roll back to last night? 

Things learned.

Stimulant works but is really slow About two minutes to wake.  

Next time we should bring 4 TRex as they rocked the floor. Two people handling TRexes.  One riding and one following.  Or both following as you can use rockets on Manicore.

6 Flyers maybe Three Wyverns and Three Pteranodon

Manicore flies mainly in middle area and uses the rock pillars to block rockets.

Death knocks you out of fight and out of getting title or loot.

Everyone should get Flag, Skin and Trophy.  Only one person gets to loot Manicore.

Again great fight everyone!!  

I say get geared up and ready to do this again.

Looking Good!!

Switching between servers.  Yep this is a thing.  We can pop between Scorched and the Center as we wish.  BUT there are a few things you need to know.  

First you have to go to an obelisk of any color.  Select move to another Ark and enter password.  Then exit game.  Then log into the server you want to go to.  Bring a bed the first time so you have place to log into next time.  But first time logging in you will have to spawn someplace  Be prepared to fight your way to friendly base.  Voila you have moved.

Thing to Know before hand: 

Nothing made with regular game mechanics will go with you accept tools, weapons and armor.  (Things like tree platforms will not)

Raw supplies and items will transfer.  (Most Chemicals will not like Spark powder but Naro will)

Raw materials will transfer and Eggs.  (Kibble will not)

Lost alot of materials last night so wanted to prevent others from same thing.
