Finally got into Path of Exile, after having played the game off and on since it first came out over 5 years ago. I decided that it was time to dig deep into the game and to learn as much as I could while playing the newest Challenge League. I'm having a great time with the game and ended up joining a guild just so that I can play with other people and hopefully learn from them.
There's a lot of good beginner guides for PoE if you're interested in getting started with it, but there's no substitute for playing the game and learning from your mistakes. I figure it's going to take me at least the entirety of this League to get a handle on the basics and maybe be able to get into a competitive build so that I can run endgame maps.

I decided to play a Witch so I could play a Necromancer later on. Having fun with Zombies, Spectres, and DOTs

Cool! I just found the forum post that explains the build, so I'll be looking into it further, if only to further my knowledge of the game and associated mechanics. I will say one thing: this game does offer a ton of variety with regards to builds and I think that's one of the key things that attracted me to it. I also like that they have different leagues starting every quarter, so there's a good opportunity to try different mechanics and classes.
