  1. To everyone out there i do apologize for the inconvenience there is a lot happening IRL for me but i do plan on continuing as soon as i can.  if new players wish to join it is not a problem.  I should, 99% sure, have a game running next Thursday at 6:30 PM EST.  All players should have a level 5 character following the rules posted at the beginning of this post.

    Thanks

Question for @Kitty Chelle when you get a chance (no rush!) --do you charge a flat rate per level for replenishing supplies, spell components, repairs, and so forth? In my college group, rather than calculate up all the spell components or adventuring supplies like armor/weapon repair, candles, rations, and other camping consumables, which was ungodly tedious (it was AD&D after all), the DM just calculated a flat rate per level (it was some percentage of the loot we'd gotten at that level, but I can't remember the percent). The only time the DM made the spellcasters pay for a spell component was if it was exceedingly rare/expensive (although it looks like the PHB already accounts for some of that in 5e).

Components that have a cost associated with them will cost that gold to replenish or use.  any spell component that does not have a cost associated or is considered common (coal, dirt) are at no cost.  and spell component you need that is not consumed is a one time purchase.  basically i don't worry about spell component cost unless it is some high cost item.

  4. Update I will be hosting the first games on April 18 2019 Thursday starting at 6:30 PM EST. If you know how to build a character go ahead this is Home-brew rules and they are listed below. If not let me know and I will help you.

    Character Creation

To create a character for D&D 5e, follow the steps below. All characters begin play at 1st level.

    Steps 1 & 2: Choosing a Race and Class

You may use all options presented in the Player’s Handbook with regard to race and class, in order to build and advance your character. For example, if you are playing a human, you are allowed to use the Variant Human Traits, as presented on page 31 of the Player’s Handbook. In addition to the Player’s Handbook however, you may also choose to use other resource from those listed below to build your character. Most information from these books can be found in https://5etools.com/5etools.html

    Dungeon Master's Guide

    Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica

    Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes

    Player's Handbook

    Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide

    Volo's Guide to Monsters

    Wayfinder's Guide to Eberron

    Xanathar's Guide to Everything

    Step 3: Determine Ability Scores

You can generate your character’s ability scores using one of the following methods:

    Standard Array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 😎

Variant: 27 Point Buy. Here is a calculator http://hallsofheroes.com/pointbuy/

    Point buy Description -

    Step 4: Describe Your Character

Describe your character and choose a background from the Player’s Handbook, pages 121 – 141, or if you’ve selected an additional resource as described above, you can select a background presented there. 5Etools (https://5etools.com/5etools.html ) also has that information.

    Step 5: Choose Equipment

When you create your D&D character for the current season, take starting equipment as determined by your class and background. You cannot roll for your starting wealth.

    Things not allowed

No evil alignments there are 9 alignments in D&D ranging from lawful to chaotic and from good to evil. Because the nature of play evil alignments are not allowed in this game.

Please note that all this information can be found in 5etools. If you need or want help building a character I would first start here

Here are a couple of tools I use in most of my games and they may help you as well.

    Point Buy - http://hallsofheroes.com/pointbuy/

    General knowledge - https://5etools.com/5etools.html

Character Sheets that auto fill (More Purple More Better) - http://www.enworld.org/forum/rpgdownloads.php?do=download&downloadid=1180

  5. Greetings my fellow role players and Dungeons and Dragons enthusiasts. I am Kitty Chelle, but you can call me Kitty. I am a long time Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Master and would like to help build an online game with the Remnants of Hope community. If you are interested and would like to join please let me know by posting a reply to this thread.

Please note that as a DM I will only be able to handle five to seven players at a time as more than that becomes to distracting.

I would need to know the following:

Have you played D&D 5th edition before?

Have you played home brew, Adventurers League or both?

Thanks and I hope to see you all from behind the screen
