Hello, Civilization fans!
I've been thinking about hosting a Civ 6 game this Sunday for Hope Springs Eternal week. I'm a beginner player -- I've only played one game before -- but if you all don't mind sitting out annoyingly long turns, I'd love to do this! I've wanted to have a Civ 6 group forever, but mine dissolved as soon as I joined it.
What do you think? Tagging names I see in this thread--
@KalianVan @Ezoura @Vedian @Oswald-Plays @Kalos
Please tag others who might be interested!

Hello Civ fans! I'll admit I'm a bit nervous to ask this, but YOLO--
With Hope Springs Eternal week about to begin, I was thinking of hosting a Civ 6 game as a community event. After putting my feelers out here--
--I snooped around and was surprised to find that there's a Civ interest group!
I'll admit, I'm a baby at Civ. I've only played once. But I've always wanted to have a regular Civ group, and if you guys are okay with putting up with someone who takes really long turns, maybe we could do this next weekend?
I look forward to meeting some of you Civ players!

I am having a very similar experience with my Undead Warlock. I played Alliance in vanilla, and didnt switch over to Horde until mid Burning Crusade. It is neat seeing some of the story that I missed out on in Vanilla, since when I did level Horde I just rushed to level cap to pvp.
Ayy, glad to hear it! I've heard that the undead have a pretty dark, well-written starting zone, too. I've gotta go through it myself.
Taking it slow is the way to go imo. Otherwise, the result is that you only have fun in one level and not the other 59.

When I played vanilla back in the day, I rolled almost exclusively night elves, so I memorized Teldrassil so well that I can remember where everything is even to this day. So when I was questing in Shadowglen on my night elf druid, I found myself getting bored. This freaked me out -- I was like, "I've waited years to play this, and now I'm finding out that I may not even like it?!"
But then I started questing on my dwarf this morning -- a race I've never played, not even in retail. I had no idea what the quests were, where to find the objectives, anything. And it was awesome. Without the minimap to hold my hand, I had to explore blindly in hopes that I could maybe find the stuff that gnome lost. I laughed at quest text I had never read before and scratched my head over where Anvilmar could be.
This is the Classic experience I was hoping for! Exploring a world for the first time, searching far and wide for quest objectives whose locations aren't spoon-fed to you. I'm stoked to get back on my dwarf (and maybe play with friends this time.)
Anyone else have cool experiences like this?

When I signed in tonight around 8pm EDT / 6pm MDT, Grobbulus queue was 15k deep and 300+ minutes. Meanwhile, the Bloodsail queue was just under 3k deep and 120 mins. So I re-rolled to Deviate Delight and was actually able to log in and play tonight, so I'll most likely be sticking here for a while.
I rolled Horde on both Grob and DD, but intend to primarily play Alliance on Bloodsail with just a Horde alt or two. Anyone else playing Horde on DD by chance?
Last few times I checked, Bloodsail hasn't had a queue at all. The highest I ever saw the queue was at about 30 minutes. It seems to have the perfect amount -- full, but not overflowing.

Ill leave my battlenet tag
You're thinking of Bloodsail Buccaneers.
I am on Bloodsail Buccaneers and Grobbulus. If you wanna say hi on Bloodsail, add Feladris. For Grobbulus, Thressa and Ilrieth. Happy questing!

It's alright, I don't have expansions either! Glad I'm not the only green one.
But the response has been lackluster, so I might not host this after all.
