I've heard mixed reviews on those Valar tokens. You do get up to level immediately and experience the content, but I don't think you receive traits in the process, so your toon is a little behind. And I've not been there but I hear Mordor is a bit difficult? If you decide to do it, I'd love to hear about your experience with it since I've only been reading various reddit threads about them. Or if @Elisel, @Daizey, or @Darnavian know much about them I'd love to hear their thoughts.

It bumps you to 105, but I was so rusty that I just started running around from the first book on. It's nice for doing book quests that need a fellowship since you get the skills of a 105 toon, some of the armor, potions, etc, so even if the area is scaled down, you still have some advantages. It's great for slayer deeding since I can one-shot everything in my path as I travel from place to place.

This guide is one of the best for explaining Aria of Valar and what you get and don't get, where to pick up additional class skill tomes for points, what order to do quests in and some little tricks I'd never know, etc. Note that this was written a while back, so things like stat caps are now outdated, but it still has some terrific tips:

I highly recommend his youtube channel. His LOTRO life hack videos are amazingly helpful, especially for returning players. He's not playing LOTRO anymore (I do hope he comes back, however!), but the videos are fantastic.

I haven't even stepped into Mordor yet. I don't have the light/shadow thing figured out at all. I figured I'd level to 115/120 (or as high as I can get) in other areas first and then tackle that content.

  2. Here's another alternative--pick 2 or 3 days and alternate between. That way, we always know which 2 or 3 days it'll be, but it still keeps some flexibility to work around other schedules. My Old Fart brain needs all the help it can get.

Sateele -10  hunter human (though I am so thinking of doing a different character,  i am not sure if I like the action stuff)

I added a bunch of you,not sure how to find the guild though

    you on right now?

  4. My toons on Landroval:

    Ealina level 11 woman warden

    Elinraen level 18 elf hunter

    Elinrial level 7 elf hunter

Elliniel level 12 elf minstrel (who I'll probably never play since I hate doing healing, and everyone wants minis just for healing)

    Estelith level 18 elf loremaster

    Eswelaith level 30 elf runekeeper

Tirrilas level 16 high elf captain

@Koro if you wouldn't mind, when you get the chance, making one or more of the toons (Elinrial, Elinraen, Estelith, Tirrilas, and Eswelaith in particular) whatever rank in the guild that can do invites, that'd be great. That way, I can catch folks who come on during the day when I'm most likely to be playing.

  6. Sounds like fun, but unfortunately this weekend is probably tied up completely with family stuff. Our nephew’s 2 year old son died yesterday, and since the boy’s family is only about 2 hours away, we’ll be visiting with a lot of folks in the next few days.

We still haven’t learned why he died. He just got sick, our nephew’s ex-wife took him to the hospital, and the poor baby died.

  7. Agreed on the meeting--let me know when a good time would be to meet. I'm game for just about any time except Fri night, Sat all day, or Sunday day/early evening. I can usually hop on later Sunday night after hubby has crashed for the night, say 9pm Eastern.

I think we need to coordinate Pub and Imp side vet content, too--the 2 sides pull from the same pool of vet players, and it makes it tough if there's vet-level content going on both factions at the same time. I do NOT want to cancel anything on Imp side, so please don't think that!

If someone has concerns, ideas, comments, whatever, please don't keep them secret. Feel free to PM me. A few of you have already, and I greatly appreciate the constructive comments and great ideas. If you feel you need to contact me off forum to maintain anonymity, you can email me at JaeOnasi@gmail.com. I know, I'm so creative with my wide choice of social media names.... :D

I'll be on.  Though I can't figure out how to get my DPS higher than abt 7900 on the dummy...there are folks on parsely who have over 9K on infiltration.   Sorry for the tangent, but I don't want to hurt the group if I'm not up to snuff.

    You're all good.

If Aravail's there we can ask him since he knows the crits inside and out. Here's a guide I found helpful although seeing the rotation Aravail uses in real time on his YT vid was best for me for learning the rotation.  If not, I'll show you what I do.
