A lengthy subject for sure, but if I had to make it short, maturity is the realization that you don’t know much. Live and let live. Treat people with respect, even if you don’t agree with their personal views of the world. And yes, it’s always best to not respond to those that feel the need to be nasty. 5. If you could have any superpower what would it be and why? The ability to create worlds. Middle earth here we come! 6. Have you been in other guilds before; on this game or any others? If so,what was your favorite and least favorite things about them? I have in this game. My favorite is seeing all the help I see others give to other players. My least favorite, and probably mostly my fault, is the lack of interactions I’ve had in these guilds. No trial, dungeon or PVP runs. Mostly from the feeling of not wanting to hold people back or disappoint. 7. What five adjectives, and 5 only, would you use to describe yourself? Loyal, Reliable, Apprehensive, Shy, Gracious 8. Have you ever held a leadership position in a gaming community? Would this be something you are interested in in the future? No, but I mainly tank, so I’m not opposed to it. Right now though, probably not the right person for a traditional leadership role. 9. Aside from gaming, what is one activity you enjoy? And what is one activity you dislike? I enjoy golfing. I dislike golfing. 10. What are your personal strengths and weaknesses as a person (not in game)? I’m the type of person that will help you move to a new place without question, but I’m the same person that will put my phone on silent for 2-4 hours so I can escape from the world. 11. Remnants of Hope houses players that enjoy all aspects of the game, Crafting, PVE, PVP, RP and Social. Which do you enjoy the most, and why? That’s tough for me. I’ve always played PVE the most and really enjoy it, but the last month I’ve been playing a lot of PVP and really enjoy that. It’s definitely between those. 12. The servers are closing down in 24 hours permanently. How would you like to spend the last bit of time in game? Going to a central location with everyone else in game. 13. What other games have you played and what did you like about them? Any games you are excitedly waiting for? Baldur’s Gate 3. I loved the story telling and choices in that game. Decades into the future where medical science has advanced, healthcare is free for everyone, and bigotry is seen as a relic of the past. 4. Upon joining Remnants of Hope you are expected to maintain a mature and friendly demeanor to everyone in game. What does maturity mean to you and do you feel that you can remain civil even with the nastiest players in the game? Maturity stems from empathy, and is expressed by caring for others. Politeness and civility are not equivalent to niceness or friendliness. I have met a great deal of polite yet nasty people in my life. I personally do not find belittling others very gratifying. It is usually best not to engage with trolls. 5. If you could have any superpower what would it be and why? Teleportation, there's just so much to see and so many people to meet. 6. Have you been in other guilds before; on this game or any others? If so,what was your favorite and least favorite things about them? I have been in several guilds over the years. The best ones feel like family, and make reasons and excuses for people to come hang out together. The worst ones allow intolerant weirdos to push all the cool people out. 7. Accurately and succinctly collating the entirety of my personhood into 5 words is not an endeavor I am currently prepared to undertake. 8. Have you ever held a leadership position in a gaming community? Would this be something you are interested in in the future? I have. To be a leader is to serve your community. My desire to serve a community is directly related to my relationship with said community. 9. Aside from gaming, what is one activity you enjoy? And what is one activity you dislike? I like to draw, and hate yardwork. 10. What are your personal strengths and weaknesses as a person (not in game)? Strengths and weaknesses are determined by situation and stress. We're all just trying to live happy lives. 11. Remnants of Hope houses players that enjoy all aspects of the game, Crafting, PVE, PVP, RP and Social. Which do you enjoy the most, and why? Regardless of game, I'm generally into playing pve and pvp content with a full group of friends. Rolling into a tough mission or match with a full squad of people you know through and through is the best feeling ever. 12. The servers are closing down in 24 hours permanently. How would you like to spend the last bit of time in game? I'd probably just spend all my time typing in map chat on the most crowded zone I could find. Telling jokes, shooting the breeze, etc. I'd spend the last few minutes just perched in my favorite spot in the game. I haven't found that spot in guild wars 2 yet. 13. What other games have you played and what did you like about them? Any games you are excitedly waiting for? I've played a whole lot of games. Bastion and Final Fantasy X are probably my favorite single player games. They have gameplay and stories I wouldn't mind revisiting a hundred times over. 14. The next stage of your journey is a two-week trial period where we get to know each other better. The trial ensures you are a good fit for RoH and that RoH is a good fit for you. I play strictly for the mechanical prosocial activities that bind us together as fellow human beings. Contending and bad behavior are self-harm and toxic to our shared environment. 5. If so,what was your favorite and least favorite things about them? I've been in dozens of guilds since starting on MUDs in the 90s. My favorite guilds have a casual and friendly atmosphere, and my least favorite need everything to be just so. 7. What five adjectives, and 5 only, would you use to describe yourself? Flexible, game, casual, quiet, and compassionate. 8. Have you ever held a leadership position in a gaming community? Would this be something you are interested in in the future? No. 9. Aside from gaming, what is one activity you enjoy? And what is one activity you dislike? I volunteer and hang out at a local clubhouse for people recovering from mental illness. 10. What are your personal strengths and weaknesses as a person (not in game)? I try not to contend with anyone or judge them because I feel like we all know life is hard. Once upon a time, I favored PVP, but I have migrated more toward prioritizing PVE and social interaction. I am just not as competitive as I used to be and would rather muddle through with some laughs than dump adrenaline. 12. The servers are closing down in 24 hours permanently. How would you like to spend the last bit of time in game? I would draft on whatever the bulk of the guild was doing. 13. What other games have you played and what did you like about them? Any games you are excitedly waiting for? I have been playing games for 35 years, but some of my favorites are Fallout: New Vegas, 12 minutes, Overwatch, Dungeon Crawl, Warhammer Online, slither.io, Champions Online, and Portal. I love complex and malleable narrative, puzzling, flow state, and shared struggle. 14. If you could be any animal (fantasy ones included) which would you be and why?
