What are your personal strengths and weaknesses as a person (not in game)? heart condition and hard time breathing, but when i try to do something i know i probably wont get another chance to do it 11. I saw your recruitment post on the ESOGuilds subreddit. 3. If you could travel to any time or place where would it be? Interesting question! If I'm just "visiting" - I'd target the 1950's-1960's to watch all my favorite oldie baseball players in their prime. I've traveled quite a bit so I'd probably target experiences rather than specific places! 4. Upon joining Remnants of Hope you are expected to maintain a mature and friendly demeanor to everyone in game. What does maturity mean to you and do you feel that you can remain civil even with the nastiest players in the game? I know for certain I would remain civil, regardless of the circumstances. These games are my escape from work / real life drama and nothing is going to break that for me! I'm more than capable of ignoring, stepping in, redirecting, defending, etc. as needed. I'm here for a good time and want everyone else to have a good time as well. Maturity (to me) is the ability to read the room; to know when something is or isn't appropriate and to make sure your intentions are aligned with the betterment of the group or situation. 5. If you could have any superpower what would it be and why? Flight! The shortcuts I could take! Plus no traffic! 6. Have you been in other guilds before; on this game or any others? If so,what was your favorite and least favorite things about them? Several but nothing cutting edge. Not my scene! The thing every guild I loved had in common was the sense of community. Logging on was like teleporting to a second home full of friends. The collective goal was always around building those relationships and having fun. I guess I'd have to say my least favorite thing would be when the occasional bad apple or group would join and really sour the conversations and push people away from interactions. Usually by the time those folks were weeded out, the damage was already done. 7. What five adjectives, and 5 only, would you use to describe yourself? Loyal, introverted, selfless, friendly, eclectic. 8. Have you ever held a leadership position in a gaming community? Would this be something you are interested in in the future? I've led smaller guilds and been in admin type roles for a couple of smaller gaming communities. I do enjoy that sort of thing and would most definitely be interested in that. 9. Aside from gaming, what is one activity you enjoy? And what is one activity you dislike? I absolutely love music. Collecting albums, creating playlists, going to concerts across all genres, I just love it. I hate running. I've tried and tried to become a runner and I just can't convince myself it's a good time. 10. What are your personal strengths and weaknesses as a person (not in game)? I'm pretty driven to be good at anything I set out to do (except running, obviously). I spend a lot of time reading and learning about LOTS of things as Covid was kind enough to bless me with about 30 new hobbies. I also tend to go out of my way to make other's lives easier. I feel good when I can help other people. As for weaknesses, I am a pretty bad procrastinator. I sometimes put my own responsibilities on the back burner and opt to do just about anything to avoid stress. 11. Remnants of Hope houses players that enjoy all aspects of the game, Crafting, PVE, PVP, RP and Social. Which do you enjoy the most, and why? Specific to ESO, I'm still learning my way around the game. I'm around 260'ish CP points and haven't see much of the game to be honest! I love it all so far. In other games, I tend to enjoy the leveling experience and crafting the most, but in WoW I was quite into PvP. 12. The servers are closing down in 24 hours permanently. How would you like to spend the last bit of time in game? Well, I've been meaning to spend some time on housing so I'd probably spend that last 24 hours really going all out decorating my largest house so that my character could "retire" in a nice place! 13. What other games have you played and what did you like about them? Any games you are excitedly waiting for? Oooh boy, I've played just about everything. I have every console and a pretty nice PC and gaming laptop. Much like music, my gaming preferences are mood-based. I have gone through phases where I played Stardew Valley for months and nothing else but I've also had a few stints where I was heavy into FPS games. The common denominator there is whether or not I have a social group to play with. As for games I'm waiting for, I'm excited for the Teek TLP server (EQ) and the new ESO expansion coming out. I've still got a pretty big backlog of games to knock out otherwise. 14. If you could be any animal (fantasy ones included) which would you be and why? Cerberus! I am returning to GW2 after a 1 year hiatus, and most of my guilds are inactive. As a gay man, I was looking for a LGBTQ+ friendly guild for GW2 and Google returned a reddit post from one of your officers dating from 2022, saying that the guild was very "old" and "gay" friendly. So I decided to apply and get to know you, as i feel a bit lonely in game right now. It seems I applied to the guild back 5 years ago for SWtOR. 3. If you could travel to any time or place where would it be? I try to travel one of twice per year, but my regular soothing spot is my little apartment in the french Alps. When I want to get my hyperactive brain cleaned up, I go there to hike, to visit some family I have there and just to enjoy the scenery really. For me, nothing is more enjoyable than having some good lunch facing the Mont Blanc (highest summit in western Europe). 4. What does maturity mean to you and do you feel that you can remain civil even with the nastiest players in the game? As a team lead (professionally) I have to deal with all sort of people. I am of the mindset than everyone has something to bring to the table, we just have to learn to live and co-exist together. I tried to welcome everyone, and treat everyone with the same respect I expect to get in return. 5. If you could have any superpower what would it be and why? NSFW answer : I love to watch people in their intimacy, not only sexual but also emotional. I guess my answer to that would be : invisible. 6. Have you been in other guilds before; on this game or any others? If so,what was your favorite and least favorite things about them? For a long time, I was a member of RTGC (Rough Trade Gaming Community / Taint). Back in the days, we had a very strong leader and a very active leadership team. We kept everyone super motivated, and it was great fun running all sort of contents with them, including the weekly guild missions on Sunday nights. When the leadership changed, the GW2 guild chapter more or less fell apart sadly. 7. What five adjectives, and 5 only, would you use to describe yourself? Nice, Loyal, Fair, Moody, Passionate 8. Have you ever held a leadership position in a gaming community? Would this be something you are interested in in the future? I was an officer in GW2 for a time for RTGC. If the feel and the fit are right, i may be interested into taking responsibilities again in the future. 9. Aside from gaming, what is one activity you enjoy? And what is one activity you dislike? Hiking: I love going into the mountains for a hike. In 2019, I crossed the french Alps from the Geneva lake to the Mediterranean. Best Time of my life. I guess I would answer the same adjectives as I wrote for question 7. Plus that I love meeting new people from all horizons. 11. I am not into RP-ing, and PvP is just not for me. I like WvW, but sPvP is usually too hardcore for me. 12. The servers are closing down in 24 hours permanently. How would you like to spend the last bit of time in game? With some in-game friends, sharing memories about the game. I have so many regarding GW2, as I played since day 2 or 3, and only because i was traveling the day it launched :) 13. What other games have you played and what did you like about them? Any games you are excitedly waiting for? Hummm I play them all :) Exagerating here but I try a good many numbers of them. The one I am really looking forward is Dune Awakening from Funcom: I Love the Dune lore and I really lioke survival games. 14.
