    LotRO Night!

Ahh, the Trollshaws. Some lovely views in that zone.
  9. @RaVem, how's this build been treating you the last few weeks? Any tweaks you've made?
  10. This is a fantastic guide with a lot of condensed, very helpful information. Original Text:

    WvW Havoc Group!

    until
You (yes, You), are welcome to join us every Wednesday night after Guild Missions for some death and mayhem in WvW. You can gear how you like and spec how you like. No WvW experience necessary. Teamspeak is very much recommended though. We normally begin right around 10:00 p.m. but sometimes start a bit later. For info on playing WvW, feel free to check the info in our guild website club: LINK Event contact info: @Owinn (Samis.1750)

    Unranked sPvP

    until
All are welcome to join us in this our UNRANKED SPVP!! group. No experience necessary. No skill necessary. We're just looking to have fun with guildies and battle it out together in the trenches! (Teamspeak is recommended.) Event contact info: @Yakazi (RiffWarrior.4102)
  13. I'll be leading this evening, so we'll probably be starting a touch later than normal. I'll try to be on at 10:00, but it more likely be around 10:15. Just doing some quick tags. Please feel free to tag others. @RaVem @Jinn Galia @Shaaahn
  14. I ended up postponing it. The raid lasted lasted longer than I anticipated, and I didn't want to get started at 12:30. Thanksgiving guests may preclude me from running it this week, but I'm thinking I might try Thursday late night next.
  15. Three good options: Support Firebrand - more of a zerg build, but would be effective in havoc too Burn Firebrand - more damage-oriented so a little more suited to havoc than Support Firebrand Meditrapper Roamer - good build as Jin attests to; more of a solo build so might want to fit a support skill or two in (like Purging Flames and/or Stand Your Ground); maybe go mace/shield over sword/shield
  16. No worries, guys. This is more a supplemental event. The main one is the Wednesday night one.
  17. This Saturday we're going to give a late night havoc group a go. The event does not have an exact start time, as we will be starting after the raid group finishes their event. More than likely, we'll begin somewhere in the 11:30/midnight range (EST). This is NOT a replacement for the Wednesday night event. @Yakazi @Idolyz @Raeb @ViVshotfirst @KageSennen @Squeeks @Mevraz @ShogunTaira @Stromness @Jinn Galia @MeRB @Erin @Olsi @demonbunny @Itsscience @Maeric @Shaaahn @Aurelious @Penarddun @pareod @RaVem @Jak @Casitel Oathbreaker @Owinn @BlixBlix @Deyna @Zang @Ashira @Shant @Sweetbunny
  18. Each Wednesday night after guild missions (approx. at 10:00/10:15 p.m. EST), we run a guild havoc group. The estimable @Owinn leads, and I chase squirrels. Every. Single. Person. in the guild is welcome. We don't care about WvW gear or skill; we're just looking to have a fun event with guildies. Joining in TS would be nice though.
  19. I'll, uh, take a look at this in the next few days, but I'm woefully bad at, and ignorant regarding, engi.
  20. @RaVem A few thoughts. If I incorrectly misstate something regarding ranger/soulbeast in particular please point it out. General Your armor target is pretty good. Remember, though, we are currently in a very strong condi meta, and armor doesn't do jack against condi. So, at this time, vitality is the more valuable defensive stat. WvW is where certain foods shine. I'd recommend a stat/damage reduction food, such as Oysters with Pesto Sauce, or a straight up condi counter food, primarily Loaf of Saffron Bread. Even on metabattle, power builds get all sorts of suggested damage increasing sigils, but my favorite is the Superior Sigil of Bloodlust. For the "on kill" proc sigils that give stat stacks remember to put a second one on an underwater weapon, so you don't lose your stack when you go for a swim. Soulbeast-specific For your runes, I can see where you're coming from. It wouldn't necessarily be my choice, but I like it. I do wonder if you would be better suited going for Live Fast over Unstoppable Union. You may also want to test Fresh Reinforcement when we have a boonshare herald and/or a frontline guard running. I do like Leader of the Pack, but I'd strongly recommend trying Eternal Bond if we're having a rough night getting wiped in havoc. I kept comparing your weapon choices against metabattle's soulbeast build, and I gotta say I like yours more for our purposes. Sword/axe isn't terrible, but I think I prefer the increased range pressure of axe/warhorn. For pets, I recommend looking at: Brown Bear (great defensive kit), Fern Hound (a little more offensive than Bear but with resistance still), and Smokescale (knock-down, evade, and the pet can lay down a smoke field that you can blast with horn 5 for a bit of stealth). For me, Signet of Renewal and Signet of Stone are interchangeable depending on the primary type of damage pressure you're seeing at the time. Entangle is an excellent substitute for Rampage as One, especially in a havoc. Such an annoying skill. If I think of anything else, I'll add it as an edit and tag you. BTW, here is my starter frontline soulbeast build (should be appearing on the forums soon): LINK
  21. I'm still working through this build. Haven't truly played ranger in years, so it will take me a little bit. The mixed stats definitely stood out though. I'm assuming that you're aiming for fairly precise numbers on multiple stats. Would you mind listing your target numbers?
  22. For us, I'd say a combination with an emphasis on self-sustain. Optimally, I'd say we build more team-centric, but that will require (1) familiarity with the group comp by pretty much everyone due to there being much less room for error than in a guild zerg, (2) a commitment by everyone to very tight teamwork, (3) an investment in the proper gear, and (4) more than likely, some people being able to switch to professions they less comfortable with and/or enjoy less. As I'm sure probably all in this thread are aware, a really great havoc squad requires the same effort and skill as a raid group. At this time, the level of commitment required for such a group doesn't yet exist, and while I'd love for it to eventually exist, it's not something I'm going to force. In time, if we get enough interest, I will be happy to facilitate a more competitive havoc event. So yeah, sorry for the tangent. The simple answer is: when building for a [HOPE] havoc event, put in as much group support as you can, but remember that self-sustain is likely your key to waypointing a lot less.
