Welcome ladies and gentleman to RoH Strike Team! Are you ready to smash some blueberries and bananas? In order to achieve victory in Cyrodiil, we need to work as a team. RoH Strike Team is designed to bring an extra level of coordination. This is the first of a now-regular weekly event!

Please note that strike team has different expectations than our traditional PvP endeavors. Please familiarize yourself with them here.

Dollar Dungeons Fundraiser Event

Hello Remnants of ESO! Are you looking for a great opportunity to give back to the community? Today I would like to announce an awesome event intended to raise real money, cash, dollar dollar bills y'all for RoH. Do you like doing dungeons? What if I told you that running a dungeon could result in RoH getting some much appreciated funds? In RoH there are costs. The website and Teamspeak require funds so that we may continue keeping this great community going.

We recently used RoH funds to purchase Teamspeak integration for the website. In case you missed it, you can learn more about that here. If you have yet to sync your TS account with your forum account, please view the post from August 3rd here. There may be further opportunities in the future for us to expand and enhance our experience in RoH and having the funds to explore those options greatly benefits us.

Now let's get to the topic at hand, Dollar Dungeons! How does it work? There are two ways you can give back for this event:

1. Complete Dungeons with the lovely people of RoH.
2. Donate $1 per dungeon we complete as a community.

Let's discuss how step one works, completing dungeons:

• Groups will be formed during the event. These groups will go about completing a dungeon of their choice. One (and only one) member from the group takes a screenshot of the group standing over the last boss. The screenshot is to be posted down below along with what dungeon was completed and a tag for each member in the group. That's it!

Let's discuss how step two works, donating:

• Post down below your intent to pledge $1 per dungeon that the division completes during this event. Something like, "I pledge to Dollar Dungeons" will suffice.
• At the conclusion of the event, this post will be updated with the total number of dungeons that were completed.
• Visit this page to donate $1 per dungeon that was completed.
• The goal for this event is 20 dungeons. This means that the maximum donation per person would be $20. For example, if we have 10 people pledging to Dollar Dungeons and we meet our goal of 20 dungeons, we've raised $200 for RoH!

Please note that donating real money is completely optional. If you can't donate real money, that's ok! You can still give back by running dungeons!

Last night was such a blast! Thank you so much @MaliciousWyvern for your amazing leadership. You definitely brought a more organized, tactical approach to PvP that many of our members have been looking for! I know that I learned a lot, especially about shot-calling and will do my best to imitate this type of approach more as we move forward. Looking forward to more of this.

As PvP officer, part of my role is to ensure that the department provides events that our members enjoy. We have regular weekly events but we also want to bring new and interesting events both from PvP and in collaboration with other departments as well. The PvP department loves coming up with ideas and trying new things that haven't been done before. We try to plan out events to the best of our ability before sharing them with you all. Despite that planning, sometimes our ideas do not pan out the way we would like or there were things we did not consider during the planning phase. This is one of those events that didn't seem to work out. Unfortunately, I'm going to go ahead and cancel this event.

I'd like to thank everyone who has showed this event support and apologize to those that were looking forward to this event on Saturday. Thank you @SerenityKellan and @Vil as well as your teams for being so open to supporting this cross-department event. Below I'd like to explain on why I'm optimistic for this event getting more traction in the future.

1. Saturday is our least popular event day and scheduling this on a different day will likely increase participation.
2. Incorporating more dueling from time-to-time, hosting 'training' events, helping with builds and gear will all help people be more familiar with dueling before we offer a tournament like this.
3. Spotlighting our veteran duelists will help people learn what it takes to get better at dueling.
4. The parameters will be changed to take Level/Champion Points into account.

Again, I'd like to apologize for the short notice. In hindsight, I should have set expectations that this event would only occur with at least 8 participants. At any rate, I'm confident that in the future we will offer this event again and it will be awesome! Thank you for your support!

Imperial City Mayhem!

"But DigitalMonk, Dungeon Mayhem is on Mondays!" Not today! We're breaking all the rules and offering this PvE/PvP Crossover event on a Sunday!

To take full advantage of the in-game event, we will be focused on the Imperial City! You can learn more about the in-game event here. But to give it to you straight, here are the rewards:
 

Double the amount of Tel Var Stones dropped from all monsters
Double the chance of picking up either the Stonefire Scamp pet or the Soul-Shriven Skin
Double the amount of Key Fragments
Double the amount of sacks dropped by Cunning Scamps and Trove Scamps
Double the amount of drops from bosses (including within the Imperial City itself and its dungeons)

You can earn the above rewards by taking part in any of the Imperial City activities. This includes battling the Daedra within the Imperial Sewers, capturing districts in the streets above, and delving into any of the DLC’s two dungeons: Imperial City Prison and White-Gold Tower.

For the first half Imperial City Dungeon Mayhem, we will be focusing on the two DLC's dungeons: Imperial City Prison and White-Gold Tower.

During the second half, for those of us that have an Ebonheart Pact character Level 10 or higher, we will be heading down into the sewers to defeat this guy ^. The simulacrum of Molag Bal. Imperial City Sewers is both a PvE as well as a PvP zone so we may encounter enemy players!

For those of you without an Ebonheart Pact character Level 10 or higher or do not wish to participate, we will simultaneously be continuing to form groups for more Imperial City Prison or White-Gold Tower. 

We will also take special care of people who do not have DLC/ESO+ or do not wish to do any of the Imperial City activities and will group you up with other people to run other dungeons together.

For Normal Dungeons, all you have to do is be level 10, and online by 8:45pm EST on Sunday! There will be a call for invites to a "large group", which will then be divided into separate teams for Dungeons shortly after 9pm.

For Veteran Dungeons, here are the expectations:

• Be at CP 160 or higher
• Have all CP 160 gear, preferably upgraded to purple
• Must have TS3 downloaded and ready to use. You don't need a mic, but you will need to listen in!

Imperial City Veteran Dungeons are DLC and would fall under the End Times expectations:

• CP 300+
• Set gear appropriate to your role 
• Proper food buffs/mundus stone
• A Patient Attitude
• Access to the DLC dungeons. This could be through ESO+, or separate purchases that you have made in the past
• Teamspeak (no mic required, but highly recommended)

Yep, this event will be exactly the same on Sunday, Sept 16th. Dungeons followed by optional Imperial City sewers for those that would like to partake! I simply haven't made the post yet, it'll be made an added to the calendar soon.

Yep! No problem! For now, I'll post a draft of the actual process since up until this point it's been just a general description:
 

1. Members are grouped up as they normally are for dungeon mayhem.
2. For each dungeon completed, anyone from the group posts a screenshot on the forum post displaying the 4 members over the last boss.
3. For each screenshot, each of us pledge $1 to RoH. If all 6 of us participate this would mean $6 per screenshot.
4. The goal would be 20 dungeons with 20 screenshots.

That's the basic version of how I envision how this going. The values can be changed and more could be added, for instance, we could allow other people to pledge in addition to us but we also don't have to. Look forward to talking more on this in TeamSpeak @SerenityKellan!

Bumping this topic and although we haven't heard from everyone yet I thought I'd get the conversation to progress by throwing out a number. How about a max cap of $20 per person? This would mean we would challenge members to complete a total of 20 dungeons and then we can raise $20 times however many of us would like to participate. Again, this is not locked in stone by any means and thought I would simply throw it out there to help things move along. If you have a different take on it or a different amount to suggest, please do so

Mission: Imperial City EXTENDED Edition
When: Sunday, Sept 9th - @8:00PM EST

This is a drop-in/drop-out event so if you can't attend for the full duration, that's ok! Come join us for however long you please.

Greetings RoH Army!

I have a few things to announce to you today regarding the next week in RoH PvP. First, in case you weren't already aware, there is an in-game celebration for Imperial City starting Thursday, September 6 at 10:00AM EDT till Monday, September 17 at 10:00AM EDT you can read this post for more details. To take advantage of this in-game celebration, the PvP team is extending its hours to bring you more Imperial City content. If you look at the calendar here, you can find the following additions for the coming week:

• Thursday, Sept 6th - Late Night Imperial City from 11pm - 1am EDT
• Friday, Sept 7th - Late Night Imperial City from 11pm - 1am EDT
• Sunday, Sept 9th - Imperial City EXTENDED Edition from 8pm - 12am EDT (Yes, that's right FOUR hours, please note this is drop-in/drop-out and although you are welcome and we hope you stay the whole time, you are more than welcome to join us for whatever small part you can attend.)

Forum posts for each of these events will be posted within the next day or so. Keep your eye on the calendar and here on the forums for more events added after Sept 9th very soon as well.

For those of you familiar with the PvP schedule, you might ask, "No Cyrodiil Siege on Sunday?" Yes. That's correct. There will be no Cyrodiil Siege this Sunday, Sept 9th. In addition to this, (and also on the calendar) you can see we are making a few changes to the PvP Schedule:
 

• Cyrodiil Siege will be on Tuesdays from 9pm-11pm EDT starting on Sept 11th.
• Imperial City will be on Sundays from 9pm -11pm EDT starting Sept 9th.
• Cyrodiil Exploration will be on the first Tuesday of each month (starting in October) lieu of Cyrodiil Siege.
• There are no changes to Battlegrounds on Saturdays at 9pm EDT

Next up, we are in the process of adding a new weekly event, "RoH Strike Team". This will be led by our grizzled PvP Veteran @MaliciousWyvern. We have asked you to poll in the past. We are much closer to bringing this event to you. We would appreciate if you have any interest in more coordinated Cyrodiil group play that you please check out the posts here and here. If you have time, please take the poll on which days/times best work for you and let us know any questions or concerns you have on this. We appreciate your patience and are very excited to bring this new weekly event to fruition.

To give you a taste of what's to come, @MaliciousWyvern will be leading our Late Night Imperial City event on Thursday, Sept 6th from 11pm-1am EDT. This will be a more coordinated approach to PvP so please read the post so that you are clear on what to expect.

We are also excited about the upcoming Dueling Tournament on Saturday, Sept 8th at 9pm EDT! So far we only have two champions who have signed up, we are looking for more! Please consider signing up today, you have nothing to lose! Prizes will be given to participants with the winner of the event winning a GOLDEN WEAPON of their choice (which includes an enchantment as well). If you don't feel like signing up, that's ok too - we encourage everyone to come out, enjoy some crafted food and drinks, learn more about the Red Lion Mercenary Company, feel free to RP a character spectating the event or just hang out. I am saddened to announce to you today that both @Cyth27 and @Chaqery have stepped down from their positions as Lt. Generals (PvP Assistants). @Cyth27 your bloodlust and welcoming aura have been a great boon and @Chaqery your enthusiasm and encouraging nature has been a great asset. You both have served as well as anyone could have asked for and I wish you both the best. Please join me in thanking @Cyth27 and @Chaqery in their service to the RoH Army and the Pact!

RoH Policy states the following:

Assistants are tied to the Department Officer, not the Department itself. After a Department Officer resigns, and a new Department Officer assumes command, all previous assistants are automatically removed. Should they desire to continue, they may reapply to the position with the new Department Officer or be reappointed by the new Department Officer.

 

Here is what the Policy states for Assistants:

Assistants are members, and they are not included in the leadership structure. There will be a maximum of 4 assistants per Department Officer, chosen/removed by the Department Officer. You can be an assistant for multiple Departments. A Department Officer may be an assistant for another Department. Department assistants are expected to do the following:
 

• Assist their Department Officer in overseeing and managing their respective Department.
• Carry out events in collaboration with fellow assistants and Department Officer.
• Work in tandem with Department Officer to help with day-to-day activities.
   

Assistants may be given additional rights of access either in game or on the forums in order to perform their duties. A Department Officer must submit their request for additional assistant in-game permissions to their Division Commander, while additional forum permissions requests must be submitted to the Elder Council. The Elder Council may require assistants sign a separate Code of Conduct when receiving additional forum privileges.

 

PvP can be a polarizing aspect of video games. In PvE, enemies are predictable and follow a scripted combat sequence. Encounters are designed with specific mechanics in mind, benchmarks to meet and strategies to implement. In PvP, none of this applies. PvP is dynamic and ever-changing. Quick decision making and adaptability are rewarded. This can result in feeling really bad and inadequate when losing since you know another player is responsible for your defeat. However, the satisfaction of seeing small improvements in PvP over time is like nothing else as you can actually notice your skill improving and getting better!

All this to say I have outlined the following 3 objectives:

1) The primary objective for PvP is to encourage participation by creating a warm, inviting environment.

2) Help those interested at improving, regardless of their skill level by working as a team eventually create a path for improvement. Whether someone is brand new to the game or has played since launch, we want to be able to provide them a way to improve. 

3) Improving the PvP section of the forums, this will assist in meeting the first two objectives.

Let me be the first to say that I am by no means an expert at PvP myself! I like PvP but have a lot to learn and the process of learning and noticing small improvements over time is what excites me about this! I would like us to view PvP as an ever-changing puzzle for us to share what we learn to improve over time.

To this end, here are the expectations for PvP assistants:
