  1. @Chelly For rolls its + 2 for Novice, + 4 for Adept, and + 6 for Master

I'm not sure about the additction to coffee, but anything is possible. It would have to negatively affect her when she can't get it. For the books, maybe she's driven to distraction when around new books, kind of a driving need for knowledge.

Regarding the bard, lute would be great. I think I'd go adept if its something you think she really enjoys.

Regarding the magic schools, let me know which ones look good.

  2. Hi @Chelly , I have some suggestions. The staff skill is combat based. Perhaps she learned how to wield it and is adept? Also, take a look at these schools of magic. I'm thinking Arwen would know mysticism, maybe something interesting like Alternation, making things float, and manipulating object.

Altermer's get the following skills at Novice: Alchemy, Alteration, conjuration, destruction, enchanting, illusion. I'm adding them to the sheet below.

I left the magical skills at Novice for the moment. I would think she would have something at adept. If you feel she's got some combat skills then leave the Staff and Parry at adept. Being a magically endowed scholar I would think Alchemy and Enchanting may be useful skills. I added medical knowledge, as that would be a great skill to learn. I added riding, which could be dropped to Novice, if you think she's not adept. I also added resilience, being that is she an altmer and magical by nature. From her birth sign she gets bard and artists. I think that could be really cool. For Bard you'll choose what that equates to, singing perhaps, or an instrument?

    Combat Skills:

    Staff | Adept | 2

    Parry |  Adept |  2

    Dodge | Novice | 1

Magical Skills  ( * equates to Altmer at Novice skills )

    Alteration | Novice | 0 *

    Conjuration | Novice | 0 *

    Destruction | Novice | 0 *

    Illusion | Novice | 0 *

    Non-Combat

    Alchemy | Novice | 0 *

    Diplomacy  |novice| 1

    Enchanting  | Novice | 0 *

    Medical Knowledge  | Novice | 1

    Resilience  | Novice | 1

    Riding | Adept | 2

    Scholar |Novice| 1
    Scribe| Novice | 1

    Birth Sign:

    Bard | Novice | 0

    Artist | Novice | 0

One suggestion for a flaw is Pacifist | Your character does not enjoy the act of combat or killing.

Take a look at the flaws here to see what might work:

He is quite hard to understand speaking English. A person I follow recently started citing his work in argument and it should be much easier to understand his written word than that which is available via youtube.

Ahh gotcha. Heavy reading then. Do you read other genres beyond the above?

This is my first ESO RP attempt. Please be gentle. I would love any and all feedback. Below is my character background and template. I will soon turn this into story but wanted some feedback first. It is rather long and is a work in progress.

I apologize for the delay in chiming in here. This is very well done and thought out. The template is also a good one. Asking all of those questions will put you at a great place going into RP with this character. Thanks for posting.

I like both the Mixed Theology and the Cross Faction RPs. I was thinking about using a new character, Alvex, Jedi Guardian Padawan.

That would be excellent :) We'd love to have you join us. Also, watch the lore section, posts will continue to go up for reference.

I'm definitely for the "Mixed theology RP" option.  My main, "Skywolven", is a Jedi, but due to his race-bound temper/anger issues, he is Darkside.  I'm a total noob at RP'ing.  But, I'm very interested in it and love watching you guys.  Someday, I'll get my nerve up and actually join in.  I'm still working on my backstory as well.

Great. We'd love to have you at an RP event in whatever capacity. :)

    I've placed a vote for cross-faction. Here's why.

We'll get to incorporate RP for people who want to play on IMP side. This could turn into an adversarial situation depending on what the each group/individuals motivations are, or not. Depends on the story. For the Force's Remnants I don't see this addition of Cross-faction as being the stereotypical Jedi/Sith good/bad scenario. Although conflict is expected.

I also think, based on the way Force's Remnants will be coming together, with a strong foundation of Jedi training and philosophy, but as outsiders with mixed ideologies some interesting story lines could come about.

Thanks for voiting, and if you haven't please do. Comments and thoughts are welcome.

    Backstory:

Vilak’s early childhood on Iridonia was spent orphaned for an unknown reason in the wilds of the unforgiving planet. He has no memory of his family, before being found by an older Zabrak named Tarek. From this point onward Vilak became one of a group of orphans and adults that Tarek both cared for and lead. Some within the group were exiles, adults who were unable to past the Res Selonren, the Zabrak right of passage, some without J’ato markings, some elderly, and children who were orphans, or cast offs.

It was with this group that Vilak’s force attunement was revealed, through an act if rage and desperation, which caught the attention of a Zabrak Sith, with a fierce J’ato named Herrok, who regularly traded with Tarek for goods. Tarek did not stop the Sith from taking the boy.

Herrok was a harsh master and teacher. Vilak came to hate the Zabrak, fueling temptation of the dark side.

When he neared the rough age of fourteen Vilak was taken for his rite of passage Tarek, the Res Selonoren. The trials were difficult, but in the end, he received his J’ato and the accomplishment of attaining adulthood.

However, any jubilation was short-lived, as the Sith made his intention known that Vilak would go to Korriban for training. Out of a sense of obligation to Tarek, the man who had been the only father he had ever known, Vilak did not rebel and accompanied the Sith without incident.

The training on Korriban was difficult. He struggled with the Sith and his place among them. He railed against the dark side of the force, finally adopting a narrow view of his place in the Empire, finding his own path forward. He delved into the study of saber combat, and found his place on the battlefield, forgoing Sith politics. He was named an Imperial Forward Commander, leading troops and engaging the Republic on numerous battlefields. He was ultimately assigned to Darth Acina’s Sphere of Technology under the Sons for Korriban, achieving the rank of Lord. Unlike his fellow Sith, he had no great aspirations of power.

During this time, he met a human woman named Rall, a former Jedi become a Sith slave who further awakened his need to embrace the light. He taught two apprentices during his time as a Sith. Although, his thoughts and teachings were not in line with the code of the sith. He struggled as a master due to this issue and found it easier to focus on combat through continuing instruction on fighting forms and tactics.

Following the coming of Zakuul, Vilak saw the destruction and displacement of people, and could no longer continue under the constraints of the Empire and the ruthlessness of the Sith. He saw an opportunity during the chaos to leave the Empire to find a worthier purpose in life.

Taking the wealth he had acquired through years of service to the Empire. Vilak set out to help displaced peoples, train resistance fighters, and assist where he could. He relocated to Tatooine where he could live in anonymity and provide a place for those in need.

He was often looked upon with skepticism due to his demeanor, his accent, and aloof nature, but that was balanced by his actions during various conflicts on core worlds. He found force-sensitive younglings, providing them sanctuary. With Tython in ruins and Jedi scattered, Vilak sought out Jedi practices and teachings, knowing while he could train them in combat, his knowledge of light-side doctrine was limited. He delved into the Holocron teachings he found and other Jedi practices, finding his connection to the light side greater, and his anger diminished along with the dark side temptation.

Vilak understood that he could not be a master to the younglings. He could not provide them a full understanding of light side philosophies while he himself was learning such.

He then turned to contacts who could tell him where the Jedi were. With that knowledge, he arranged to have the younglings that he found sent to the Jedi for training in quiet. One such was a Zabrak boy that he sent to the Jedi via a smuggler.

When the Alliance formed and strengthened, Vilak offered to assist with the fight to be rid of Zakuul, while relying on subordinates to keep his Tatooine relief efforts going. He fought on various battlefields throughout the conflict. Following the fall of Zakuul, and the skirmish over Iokath, came to a greater concern, a cult trying to resurrect Vitate.

Vilak along with Rall’s daughter Tahlie set out to bring down the cult, which brought corruption, unspeakable horrors, and mental assaults. During an incursion on Oricon Vilak suffered a mental break, murdering Alliance mercenaries and nearly killing Tahlie.

It was determined that both he and Tahlie had been altered by exposure to crystals spread by the cult. Vilak was apprehended for his action and transferred to Tython to determine the nature of the corruption. During this time, a gifted doctor by the name of Daravus found the means to repair the changes made by the corruption surgically. Following surgery, Vilak was deemed clear of the cultist's corruption and has primarily remained on Tython, where he has been given access to Jedi teachings.

He has come to respect the Jedi's understanding of the force and the light side, along with their battlemaster's lightsaber ability. He does not agree with Jedi doctrine regarding the extermination of former and now redeemed sith. He also has not come to a place where he can forgo his own attachments. While finding himself drawn to the Jedi, he cannot fully immerse himself in their ideals, or fully trust their view of him, a former Sith.

    Personality:

Vilak’s expression is reserved, often seeming austere. His speech is heavily accented, to the extent one would think he belongs on Drummond Kass, deep in Empire territory. His smiles infrequently come, as does his laughter. He is frugal by nature. His outward expression belies a person who is sympathetic, caring and honorable. Being Zabrak and having lived among the sith, he expects to be looked down upon for his species, due to non-humans being treated as second-class citizens in the Empire. This behavior is now ingrained, creating an often guarded aloof demeanor. Due to his upbringing, he is often socially inept, not understanding nuances of social interaction. He is polite by nature, often exceedingly so. He is exceedingly loyal to those he trusts and calls friend, often to a fault.

Likes: Truth and honorable actions in others

    Dislikes: Deception

Goals: Find purpose, assist others, redemption

Motivation: Redemption and growth from his actions and time as a Sith. Continue to walk a path of light, despite resistance, difficulties, and temptation.

Fears: Failing to protect loved ones, falling to the darkness, giving up emotional connections to those he holds dear.

Remhops! I am looking to begin a new RP story arc centering around force user training. It is current being written, and lore posts are in the works to create a background for the RP itself. I am looking for anyone who would be interested in helping to form the RP, write, or help create the lore posts.

If anyone has any ideas or comments, please leave them below. If you have any questions, feel free to leave them below or message me directly.

I'm excited about this! What Morgana is working on will incorporate into the guild RP story we're building. It will give an RP basis for our force users to fit in and train in line with our ROH story.

Who wants to help out with this?

There's great amazing lore out there, and Morgona has a lot to offer in getting this rolling. So however you want to be involved. Let him know here. I for one am in!
